Default Any rumors about new cup holder?

I looked at the Crossfire when they first came out. Loved the car! Wanted one! Sat in the car and the cheap cup holder was a deal killer. Every thing else was great! Has Chrysler fixed this problem yet? Any rumors about a new interior with better cup holders? I have read all the posts about problems with the cup holders on the forum and I would think that someone with Chrysler would be listening.

Just wondering if I should wait for a revised interior or go looking for something else.

Yeah....dont drink and drive...

It is pretty annoying after a while having it pop up every 10 seconds.

What a shame! To be willing to spend $40,000+ on car but they design a crappy cup holder and kills the deal.

I drove a Honda CRX Si for twelve years. Spent the whold time wedging my coke/water/McDonalds cup between the seat and the console. Not going to do that again.

Thanks

buy the cubby pocket that the base crossfire comes with and replace the cup holder. you should be able to get it pretty inexpensively from the dealer.

What is the cubby pocket? I have an 04 Crossfire and the only thing I really hate is the cupholder...if you can even call it that!

I have the 6 speed and the cup holder has popped up only twice in almost a year. I'm just shy of 6 ft. tall so my arm does hit it once in a while but it still doesn't pop up. Go Figure!

you can remove the spring too, if you want to keep the cup holders functionality but stop it from popping up. if you remove the assembly, the spring will come with it. just reinstall it without the spring and it wont be a problem. it WILL, however, make the cupholder sit the slightest bit cockeyed. i made up a shim to keep it straight.

I just tryed my cup holder again and I noticed that you can push it down more than a quarter of an inch, and push reasonable hard before it will even come up. Hence, I think that you do some type of adjustment to yours. Simply, I really need to work at it to make it pop up!

A miata after market part is what I installed. It installs on the inside of the passenger side console and flips out when in use. Folds flat when not needed. $10 It is an easy reach for the driver.

There's a quick mod you can do to change that horrible cup holder into a change or whatever holder.. That's what I did.. it now holds my cell phone better than the ash tray in front of the shifter.. try doing a forum search for 'cupholder mod' or something similar to that.

holds my monster "lo Carb" perfectly. Note: dont try to force paper "supersize" cup into holder, you will make it leak.

Hmmmm. How many people eat and drink in a $30,000 sports car? especially if and when driving the way it should be driven. Fast,Hard, and to the limits. I'm glad mine has a little tray instead of the cupholder, its great for holding my cell phone. Just my opinion

I hate the cup holder as well, but to kill the deal, no way. I put my tall cup of coffee in there and keep the turns at low speeds. :-) No way I'm gonna let a cup holder ruin the rest of the fun, and I'm sure something will come out to replace it, hopefully before I burn myself.

Mine holds my water bottles very nicely. I tend to not drink anything but water in my vehicles. I never eat in my car, no matter how much of a hurry I am in. The one exception is my '93 Subi, since its my beater I do eat in it...
