Default Improve mileage

Hey guys! Premium petrol is getting expensive. Aside from oil changes and air filter changes, is there any other suggestions you can offer to improve my mpg?
Thanks

I can get 29-30 if I'm on a long trip and drive very easily.
Around town and running back and forth to work, back when I had the other car and drove it every day, I doubt I got even 25, probalby down near 20.

Depending on what you are doing, you may be getting all you will get.

I have 2400 2 channel ab amplifier 2 skar vvx subs with massive tripple stacked magnets, tools, luggage for the week coats boots, lunch box, crane manuals and books for my crane.
Alot of weight added up, last couple weeks and next few months is 4 hrs twice a week just on interstate with cruise set at 74 mph.
And past 3 years I also added some tractor plate weights in back under my luggage for winter.
I look at silver fox and my 4x4 dodge that gets 11.6 mpg and I think, roads are not that bad yet.
Hahaha, good all season tires and weight it has surprised me. This year I added and tpms that is external and can see the exact pressure of tires, to keep proper air in summer and can air down rear in winter if needed worry free.

Do not get an SRT, it gets in the low 20's mpg. Driving back from Florida after picking it up, my son used the old saying that it could pass anything on the road except a gas station.

But when you drive 26 hours straight through you welcome the stops for a well needed stretch and a coffee.

One of the forum members makes a different rear end gear set for the XF which lowers RPMS and will help mileage. I have planned on recontacting him to have one made for my car but haven't gotten around to it yet. I think he is in Florida.

I am sure some of the other members will know who this gentleman is

Considering the price of such a mod you probably can buy a lot of gas for that same amount, and you'll probably sell the car before that money is used up on the difference in gas prices now and in the future.

I agree with you 0nehundred80 about the cost of the diff swap compared to the value of the gas saved, I haven't done the math but it has contributed to my not doing it so far.

In terms of keeping the car, I have looked around and unless I'm missing something, there is not another relatively modern, 2 seat coupe vehicle that would be an alternative to the XF, at anywhere near the same money. Closest thing might be a 350Z, but for similar money it would have a lot more miles than the XF.

And when you compare the XF to something new, not only are the choices dwindling, but the cost of a new comparable 2 seater is amazing. Seems to me that the XF is not only probably a keeper, but a bargain.
