Default Bigger and wider?

How big and wide can we go on our wheel size? I was thinking of buying forged wheels with 19X8 (front) and 20X10 (rear)...are these sizes appropriate? Can it cause a rubbing on the wheel well?

Your suggestions are all welcome.

I don't know about the rubbing but it will slow the car down considerably.

I would have thought that it would slow the rate of acceleration but top end would improve. Not as fast off the line but top speed would be faster.

Cyril,
Have you touched base with Tire Rack yet? They seem to be pretty good at this and they are on line or you can talk to them by phone. Just a suggestion. I am interested to know what you finally find out or try. I have been looking at some TSW wheels and have wondered about the fit, also.
Chris

Tire Rack only have a limited number of wheels which didn't really fit what I liked...I was thinking of going for the Momo FXL which is lightier ( 26 lbs. ) and has more of a sporty look on it.

One thing I have heard is that if you go with a bigger wheel package it can damage the ESP system of the XF if you want to stay with a great rim that you can get in a 18'' and 19'' you may want to look at the Foose speedster. Thats what I have on my car and they look great. Heres a pic of the rim.
