Default New Chrysler Concept Car--'Firepower'

Received my Chrysler magazine that is sent to new owners yesterday, mentioned two concept cars, something I think was called an ME Four-Twelve, which according to the magazine, could do 200+ miles per hour, and looks like a Lamborgini, and a car called the 'Firepower' which the magazine described as a mix of the ME Four-Twelve and the X-Fire and is 8 cylanders, and seemed to have a rather cool design. Any info on if/when the Firepower will come out? If it's 2007, that's when my X-Fire lease is over with, could have potential. (The magazine didn't give a price for the ME Four-Twelve, but anything that could go 0-60 in 2.8 seconds is probably a tad bit out of my price range)

not to be mean, but where have you been? the ME has already been announced as a non production car, so none will ever be made, and the firepower, based on the crossfires sales im 99% sure the firepower is a pipe dream too, both these concepts are old news though.

I do not pretend to 'know' everything about every car in the pipe at Chrysler or elsewhere, all I know is that the magazine I received and saw yesterday, showed pictures of both, and did not list what was to become of these concept cars. If the cars aren't to be considered, then why did Chrysler mention them to all new car owners? And the Firepower is a 'doable' car for production purposes, which it seems might go for around 40 K, and kind of reminds me of a Viper.

Firepower prices are expected between the SRT-6 and the Viper which is around 50-60k. ME Four Twelve will cost around 500k

if the firepower sells for 40k im first in line, im guessing IF, IFFF it does go into production that its going to be more along the lines of mid to high 60's. if the crossfire already sells for 35 grand its hard to understand how a v8 powerhouse will sell for a mere five grand more...just a personal opionion.

The Firepower is built on the Viper chassis.
If the Firepower goes into production, I would think it would be priced ballpark with the C6 Corvette.

The Firepower interior is great...looks like an Aston Martin and the looks are way to cool than the vettes!.

I've done some reading since my original post, and apparently the Firepower could use the 300's hemi 8 engine, (which is now mass produced due to the success of the 300) and viper's chassis from the Dodge plant, to reduce costs, in a similar method to the X-Fire using the SLK frame to reduce costs....40K may be optimistic, but I've heard estimates of mid-high 40K's.

I am good friends with an owner of the local chrylser dealership and he says they are going to be produced to go up against the corvette so they will be priced accordingly along with corvettes. He says they are 98% sure that it is going into production.

last i heard, and i'll admit it was word of mouth, but the firepower was supposed to be in the 80k range, thats why i think it will be a flop, i could buy almost 2 corvettes for that...i'll do some research and see what i can come up with though.

alright, well i stand corrected, the consensus says it will be priced to compete with the corvette, so that will be cool if true, however they have about 50 years of american car legacy to compete with, i personally if given a choice between the two could not even fathom walking away from a corvette. this will be the main hurdle for chrysler to overcome...i still find it extremely hard to believe that it will be that cheap though, thats my two cents, and i know everyone cares what i have to say

they are talking about competeing with the high end corvette at around 60k I believe. not the basic model. So it will be more than the 44k base model

its not hard to leave the vette when the firepower looks so much better, just hope this time the performance stacks, don't think they'll make that mistake again.

i disagree with the looks, i think the corvette is perfectly balanced and sleek and the firepower looks anime-ish, misproportionate and squashed, so its an opinion arguement there

ME12 will never be! FirePower... If Chrysler makes enough to fill first year demand by the the second year dealer mark-up will be out the azz. based on the viper underpin with the NEW "HEMI"
6.1 425hp and the "Chrysler" name you'll be lucky to see one for 60. The viper will have to bump up horsepower to stay on top and thanks to the new vette yuk.. the 6.1 will most likely push 500hp
when released, I hope you have deep pockets. The good thing is everything on the firepower is off the shelf inventory for Chrysler so it wont be long until it sees dealer's floors. (fingers crossed)

Since Vipers and SRT10s don't sell that fast at 80k the firepower would differently sell if it's in the High 50s -60 range! Fast maybe not people still aren't buying concept cars like they do Porsche and Corvettes! the SRT6 fell flat and are sitting on lots now the Crossfire is one of the best looking cars out there and is still barely leaving the lots (very little advertising). So i don't think a 5000 production run would sell much over msrp! Remember the NSX it was high for a few months and then under after 6 months on the lots! It also had one of the best reviews ever for a new sports car going for it.
Also the firepower is only 2 seats that limits it to less than 10% of the new buyers out there plus cost. Then that drops down to 5%, that group can afford any car such as, porsche ,mercedes SLs SLKs, Corvette, XLR, Jaguar XK8. They buy prestige and known resale VALUE! fast seller to them no! hard sell 1st year!
Now if it's a great car then The old Viper buyers and owners will be the group that eats them up at first and the Crossfire people too if they can get out of their cars. That's their target 1st and 2nd year buyers.
