Default Lurking Chrysler Reps

What is with these Chrysler reps asking permission to join in the conversations? Either they are just extremely polite or there is some fear that DC might get sued unless their reps ask permission to participate in a forum.

Why has it taken 2 years for them to find this forum?

Isn't it suspicious that they start showing up just as the rumors of ending Crossfire production start rolling around? What is it about the Crossfire that they are trying to find out?

And why is when they talk, it sounds like something out of a brochure?

I don't trust 'em. I say we STRING 'EM UP!!!! Ethel, get my rope!

They may have been instructed by their supervisors to learn about common customer complaints. Where else can they get hands on experience and hear what customers or potential customers are saying about Chrysler products? Or maybe some reps may just have a personal interest in the cars they represent. After all when an owner calls with a complaint he or she expects the company to know everything about their car as well as how to solve the problem.

I think they are just kind of nerdy, that's all. Maybe they're not used to message boards. Asking permission isn't protocol here. At least it's not the atmosphere on this one, thank-you very much!!

Remember, they represent Chrysler, so they have to use proper protocol or it may reflect poorly on the company.

The rep's email address was for BBDO Detroit. BBDO is an advertising firm. Take that for what you will. I'm just going to assume that they want info on how we view the vehicle, and how to better market it.

I agree with papismark. If they wanted to fool us or take something, they could easily enough get in here and play like a xfire owner. I'm in the advertising business, too. It's good to listen to customers now and then. (And sometimes not!)

That's true, it's just the asking permission that seemed unnecessary. I guess maybe they think that if we know what they are looking for, they may get better responses. And anyway, they aren't "lurking", they are actually posting! (Unlike a couple of thousand other registered members).

I think they're trying to find the Crossfire buyer that's still out there! they just don't spend much on ad's. But this is a limited market and 2 seaters sell like Porsches and Corvettes because of loyal buyers, Crossfires haven't been for sale 50 years. Dah!

Greetings,

I did introduce myself sometime back as the Marketing person for Mopar Accessories and I have had online and offline communications with some of you. I often lurk on your board to find information and trends. And, if there is a question concerning Mopar, I have replied. As recently as last week, I posted that we just released a new accessory for the rear fascia.

Best Regards,

Rick (3wide)

I guess I'm one of the buyers that's still out there. I'm still driving a '99 Camaro, which I'm looking to trade in on a Crossfire probably around July/August. I was going to wait until closer to graduation (December), but DC has some seriously sweet deals for college grads.

Hi,
Why should we be concerned that people from Chrysler want to join this forum? this is a public forum, we should be quite happy keeping Chrysler informed about how we feel.... its not as if they are trying to hide anything... as an aside we are more than happy with our dealer... way better than my last two Volvo dealers.. and I won't even comment on the Ford and Mitsubishi dealers we had to deal with!!

Our feeling is, that Chrysler knew they had a hot design on their hands, but had no idea how to introduce a completely new (for them) sports car, sure it has faults, but nothing like the competition..well alright the Boxster is probably the best out there.. but check the price... two Crossfires to one Boxster...

Anyway, welcome all of you from Chrysler...and thank you for being open about it, ...and thank you for a wonderful driving experience... which for some reason goes on and on.... communication is the key to success....lets all keep communicating..

Chrysler could use this forum as a makeshift focus group. Did you know that the Edsel was designed using focus group observations?

I have some hope in that. So that the "future" era of crossfire if there is will be close to 100% custom-made to suit requirement, performance, safety, need, necessity, comfort plus some % of luxury.

Just a hope...

Rick
rick...

we need mopar (& your influence) to offer the "srt 6 front chin spoiler" as a bolt on accessory (not a complete bumper).

you would sell a ton of these to us non-srt buyers.
