i finally added dynamat to my doors...
the creaks, squeaks & rattles in the door panels took a toll on me...especially when the stereo was on.
i added dynamat as needed on the inside of the door behind the panel on all the contact areas. i also removed the door speaker and insulated/dynamated behind the speaker.
the doors now feel much more solid and now are creak, squeak & rattle free... for the time being.

Thank you for the detailed info. Pretty interesting view behind the cover. Do you perhaps have a picture where the rear top of the door is visible? I'm wondering how the door pins are fixed. If they are screwed (I mean mechanically.
)
Because I'd like to replace the plastic things.
Thanks

Thank you very much for the supply. Great pictures again. But I think there was a misunderstanding. I just wanted to see how the door pins are mounted (those plastic things going up and down when you lock/unlock). In the first series of pictures you showed it almost. It needed just a little more of the top in the rear.
Sorry confusion. But I hope you know now what I mean...
Thanks.

now it makes sense....
the door lock/pin slides into a plastic sleeve (1 inch long) which is fixed to the door panel (see left top of pic).

the plastic lock/pin unscrews from the threaded metal rod (partly) visible in the picture.

i hope this is still helpful.

Yes, that's it. That's what I tried to ask. To see how the metal rod and the pin are conjoined. Now I can use all my force and hope to unscrew this ugly plastic thing.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
yep...the pin should just unscrew from the threaded metal rod without even removing the door panel.
The plastic door pins are really hard to remove that I have to tear them apart using pliers. Anyway, I replaced them with a brushed aluminum one and it looks great! (see my gallery)

since you added dynomat around the plastic snap clips it should in result push the door panel out a fraction of a inch...so to the point, does your door now come in contact with the dash when you close the door. i noticed mine slightly touches the dash on hot days and it makes the most annoying rattle i've ever heard in my life.
