Default Alarm siren/ locking pump

The siren was going off today when I had the car out. Lights flashing siren sounding. Admittedly i was pushing buttons on the fob to get it to quit that might have been the lights part. The siren sounded for a good 5 minutes or so, even while i was driving home, sometimes it would stop for a sec the restart. It quit after the 5 minutes or so and never came back on. I tore the trunk apart and checked the central locking pump for water, none found, and punched the drain plug out just in case for later. I am assuming now that the siren has just gone bad, am I right? Anything else I should do? I've been searching the forum for half an hour and it seems like I haven't found anything new. Also the new siren seems to have really gone up in price to about $150. I remember Valk just got one not to long ago. Thanks

It is probably going off because the internal batteries are leaking acid onto the circuit board inside
I did buy my new siren here for about $129 back in March last year

These suckers are going up in price, in the FCP link in Valks thread above it is $142. These are the beeping sirens that sound when the doors are locked/unlocked. The silent ones are cheaper.
