Default Looking for leftover '04 in California ($20k)

Hi Folks,

I found out from the GM Sales of AutoWest Fremont that they sold their last three '04 Crossfire leftovers for $19,991. That's just a ridiculous price. Of course, I'm trying to get that deal for myself! I'm willing to pay up to $20k. (I'll skip lunch one day.)

Problem is, the rest of the dealers near me (SF Bay Area) aren't as willing to deal. I guess they want to continue losing money each day...

So, I was wondering if any of you had suggestions for dealers to check out in SoCal? I bought my current car down there (Carson Toyota) and it was a very easy transaction. I flew in, they picked me up, I was driving my new car in an hour.

The Chrysler website needs some serious work. You can't search by the car you want like Infiniti's site. I had to go through each dealer and e-mail them separately. It didn't even save my info! I don't know who the biggest/best dealers are down there.

Jim Cavanaugh said he'd give me a "deal" on his leftover '04. $27,xxx! What a DEAL! Thanks Jim.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Elwood. I almost *never* read the paper anymore, so it's appreciated.

$9k off an '05? That's not bad.

Not as good as $14.5k off an '04 though.

When I bought my leftover '04 the first quote was for $27,XXX, too. I called back a week later and it dropped to $25K, a month later $22K. Two days after that quote I drove to Ohio to pick it up. I'm sure I could have got them a little lower but it was the EXACT car I wanted and I didn't want to risk it. I would keep calling and play the waiting game. If that doesn't work call two dealerships and make them work for your business. They will fight back and forth until you bite at one of them...

Hold tightly to your wallet if you go anywhere near Hayward Chrysler. These guys are the original "system house". Shopped them last summer for an 04'. Best quote was $4,000 over MSRP even though they had run an ad the previous weekend at $5,000 under MSRP. When I got up to walk, the idiot "sales manager" said "this is only the beginning of negotiations", to which I replied, "no, this is the end of negotiations". BTW we had bought a 99' 300M from them in 99' when they were under different ownership.

You are soooo right. How fast I forget. I also had a similar
experience when I was shopping around for my CF. Salesman took me out on a test drive......I really liked the car......upon which the price seemed to go up the more I liked it. There has to be a reason why they still have so many in their lot.
Thanks Pj for jogging my memory.

this is defiantly the weekend for deals, my boss instructed all sales associates (not me i'm a tech) to sell at anything reasonable, i guess we sold 75 lexus' last year over memorial weekend, and they want to break triple digits. this is the weekend to make your move.

Thanks for the info folks. I've gotten a handful of quotes around/below 24k.

Still haven't seen anything close to $20k though. I think I might have missed the ONLY three CF's to sell at that price.

Oh well, I can keep waiting.

Thumbs up Re: Looking for leftover '04 in California ($20k)

Hong;

Looks like all 2004's have been sold around the Bay Area. I am keeping an eye out for any good deals. I'll let you know.

Hi everyone. I'm currently drive a 2004 gas-eating SUV. I'm ready to put it behind me for a fantastic german automobile . Since I'm getting beat-up on the trade-in, I need to find an '04 Crossfire for under 20K in order to get it by the CFO (you all know who that is).

I know that lots of you paid over MSRP; and it really hurts to hear about pricing like this, but if you do see something in the paper, please post it here.

THANKS!!!

I got mine at McCune Chrysler in National City (just south of downtown San Diego) for $21,700 last month. It took a couple of weeks of negotiating, but when I finally got to deal with their fleet department things went very smooth.

They had another 7 or 8 2004's on the lot when I got mine.

Happy hunting!

Erik,

Thanks for your post. Congratulations!!!
One question: Was that Out-the-Door or before taxes?
Is there a contact in the fleet dept. that you'd recommend?
I'm in Orange County, so SD is no problem for me.

Thanks again!

Gero,

The $21,700 was before taxes and licenses.

I dealt with Judy in the Fleet Department.

Good Luck!

Does anyone know of any CA dealerships with a low 20k price on an 04' xfire? I called a couple today and had little luck. The best I found was a red 6 speed in LA for 24.9k, not exactly the 21.7 posted above.

I'm in San Diego (I tried McCune but they had sold them all), but will travel to northern for a deal.

Dave
