You got a ticket when?
I got stopped by a State Trooper yesterday about 3:30 p.m. I'd taken a fast exit from one freeway to another in 3rd gear (autostick, limited coupe), shifted into 4th and let the redline shift it into 5th. Officer was on me "bang!" Provided license. He asked if I knew how fast I was going, and I replied "80-something." I told him I'd let the engine shift it into 5th and I got out of it after it shifted. He told me it shifted at 95 mph. He asked a couple of questions about the spoiler and told me to slow down a little. No ticket; no warning; nice guy.
It does pay to be over 60 with a cane in the passenger seat.

Cool. Share your experience with Cyril...
I remember once I drove over to germany. It's really near from where I am (germany has no speed limit on highways). After the border there was a bid traffic control. Almost every car has been pulled over. Several cops checked the cars of mostly young drivers: tires, exhaust, lowering and all not allowed features you can have in your car. Europe is more strict than US. When it was my turn the cop (younger lady) asked me:
"Where are you heading to?"
"I am going just a bit on the highway and then back again."
"So, you're going to see how fast your ride is on our highways? Going to do some full speed? Huh?"
"Yes, ma'am, but not too fast. You know it's getting dark and it might be dangerous..."
"Well, shame I have to work. I'd jump right away on the passenger seat! Nice ride. Bye."

Nice guy, no ticket.
the best chance in getting a break...is to admit guilt asap (as jay indy did). this way you don't insult their intelligence. trust me it works in most cases.
you challenge them...you have pretty much called them a liar for doing their job.
if you have a radar detector in sight and get caught for speeding...your done.

I was with a friend who got pulled over for not having a front license plate. It was funny the cop pulled him over a long time after seeing us and we had not seen him for a some time. Well he just got a warning and we drove off. “The end”

The cop asked me whether I saw some fog. "Oh officer why are you asking this? You see it's a beutiful evening." -- "So why are the fog lights on?" -- "Really?! I'm so sorry, it's a friends car and I don't know where the switch is. Can you help me? Do you know this car? Or could you please watch the front, while I try some switches and tell me when it's off?" The cop said, he didn't know how to operate the lights of this Jeep but went to the front and bent forward. My turn! First, I did some park lights ("No") then turn signals ("No") and before I switched off the fog lights, I gave him full taste of high beam ("Nooo..uhh")! "Thank you officer, sir, and I'm so sorry..." ---- No ticket.
Had a friend my age who would begin crying when he got stopped. He'd act scared and tell the officer he was lost and late for an appointment somewhere in the area. He would usually get directions and a warning. The tough part was sitting in the passenger seat trying to maintain a straight face.

Had mine for almost 2 years (August) with only one ticket and it was less than a mile from home -- I was doing 62 in a 45 but officer only wrote for a 54, so no show on insurance in Ok at least this is what the officer said.

I just moved to Seattle where the side streets are zoned 35 mph. I was accelerating up a hill and I got nailed. Two motorcycle cops. The first got me at 55 and the second got me at 59. The ticket was written for 55. I subpoena the cop and he didn't show up so the ticket was dismissed.
You guys have good stories, except mine probably. I was framed to get the end of the month "quota" or shall we call it "goals". I was cited at first for speeding, which I protested during the stop and was changed to "racing / acceleration of speed". It was already posted in the court docket with a scheduled jury trial on the 6/28. Then 3 weeks after, the trooper sent me mail dismissing the ticket for "racing / acceleration of speed" and sent me a new ticket for "reckless driving". The second ticket is my way out, because it's my proof that these troopers can't really find any violation against me and has to fabricate charges against me 3 times. Internal affairs is currently handling my case now, but of course a "whitewash" is expected. That's why the Office of the Attorney General will also be involved.
Gotta fight these crooked cops, because they too will cut corners to get their job done especially at the end of the month!

Circumstantial evidence is hearsay...no murder weapon and cause of death established but sad to say the law enforcers can also corrupt the justice system in their favor.
