Slow Ignition
Re: Slow ignition of 2005 Crossfire Roadster Limited purchased May 3, 2005.
Has any Crossfire owner experienced that starting your car takes an excessive holding of the key to the ‘on’ position in order for the car to start?
From August through November 2004 I had driven 9 Crossfire’s from 6 dealerships. All except one auto started within 1/2 to 1 second of turning the ignition key. My Crossfire requires a 2 ½ to 3-second hold of the ignition key prior to the car starting. Over the past month I have started 6 more Crossfire’s from dealerships with only one taking over a ½ to 1 second hold (that one was 1 to 1 ½ second hold)?
My dealership service department claims that Chrysler tech support has NOT had such a complaint to date and hence can not suggest a “fix” for the issue of slow ignition.
Any Thoughts?

Lowell, sorry to read about your problem. I too drove several XFs and never had start delay.
There may be many things cause this: Fuel pump, bad spark plugs, ignition distributor, transformer coil, cam shaft sensor, crank axle sensor etc. Let the dealer do the search!
Good luck.
