Default Non-Structural engine/body braces

I am looking for the part number for the following two components in the picture, they run from the body of the car to the front subframe. I need to acquire 2 in the UK to get through the next vehicle inspection test. As they are rusting and rotting on mine.
I have searched

I stole the photo from the forum Battery ground cable thread, as I remembered this photo showed where they were and it was a well lit photo.
For perspective this is taked from the rear to the front of the car.

I think a good fabricator could make replacements.

Oh I'm sure I could easily knock up some steel channel with the exact length and 2 holes in. But I'd much rather find the Chrysler part number or the Mercedes part number. I know these were on the SLK chassis too but can't find them listed in the SLK parts manual either.

I think I may have found the Mercedes Benz part number A1705240047 which is helpful. Would really like to know the where this Item is in the Chrysler parts catalogue.

It is pointless to try to find anything in the Chrysler catalog. It is so incomplete and most of the parts will say they are NLA. You are better off find a part from a salvaged vehicle or finding the Mercedes part number stamped on the part you are looking to replace.

mattyremf,

Punching in that part # on fleabay gave me this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/01-04-SLK23...MAAOSwXedcIRjG

There were 2 other listings on this as well.

Good luck hunting!

PS. That photo was of my '05 SRT6 coupe that I just sold this passed July.

Regards,

It was such a fine example, hence why i remembered the pictures so vividly, I hope someone paid top dollar for it.
I have been in touch with mercedes and they are cheap enough from them, so gonna treat the car to 2 fresh ones.

Hi There

I have just had a poke around under my Xfire while I waited for the oil to drain and noticed the same two parts on my car are looking it bit "worse for wear". The MOT is due before the end of November so I should probably replace them before getting an MOT failure.

Can you please provide all the details so I can get some on order from my local Merc dealership.

Many thanks
Mark
