I was reading a post and the guy showed how he opened up the grill so it would allow better flow but now cant seem to find it, does anyone have that info?
at one time we (members ) cut off the part inside the grille that forced the air up, (it really keeps the air in ,,,looks like it would work to get more air into and through the grille,,,, well the ones of us that race our cars every week or so ,found that the air would then bounce back OUT and not go through the radiator the angle of those fins keeps the air from bouncing out,,it forces the air through the rediator and runs cooler ,,,with a stock thermostat u will not see any change on your factory gauge with a aftermarket gauge some times u will see 1 to 2 degrees higher,,with fins removed,, that is when u are going over 100 mph for while. now if you have a show car and have lights in the grille then cut,(remove ) just the 1/2" or so of the fin that is the most rear of the grille jim
Ok, thanks. I saw one post where the guy used the heat gun to get the grill warm and bent it to make the opening larger. I will keep looking but thanks for the help. I plan on hitting the drag strip as soon as I get the car back on the road.
Buy some used air injection fans like is on the SRT-6. Why would you want more air anyway? Are you having problems with air flow cause mine works just fine as is? Maybe your air filters need replacing. LoL If your going to the strip then you need hood scoop with direct connection to the back of the manifold with no filter.
thanks. just picked up this srt-6 and was putting it back together looking for mods. I ended up using a needwings dual intake off a SL55 with inline filters
