Interior Lights and the Rear Hatch
Hey Gang...my dealer did the latch replacement to correct the rattle from the rear hatch and now my interior lights won't go on or off when the hatch is opened or closed. I've looked and can't find anything near the latch or where the hatch contacts the body that looks like a switch (similar to the driver and passenger doors). Does anybody know where/how opening/closing the hatch triggers the interior lights?
My dome lights would not go off when the doors (including the hatch) were closed. It turned out to be a sensor in the passenger side door which thought the door was open all the time. Dealer replaced the sensor, and all is well--after a one week wait for the part.

Drove a crappy Taurus the dealer rented for me. Quite unsatisfactory. If you mean about the light, I just turned it off until I could get the car to the dealer.
