Your posting contains misinformation. That IS NOT one of the "first" Crossfires! That is a 2006 Base model Crossfire Roadster (Cheapest model available) manufactured during the model years the Crossfire was available from 2004 thru 2008.

Dennis, Joe is saying that he thinks it is probably the first Crossfire ever in the Hemmings auction.

I saw that this morning and at first I thought it was a base because of the black windshield surround, but after looking closer it also has black door handles and leather seats. I think it is a limited. It also has only 5000 miles. It’s also a manual.

If you look closely at the photo gallery for this car, it appears to be a 2006 Base Model. The leather seats have the separate headrests, which the Limited did not. So the existing owner had the cloth seats recovered in leather. No fog lights up front - again a Base Model feature. Blacked out trim - again a Base Model feature. No power seats - again a Base Model feature. Black Airbox - again a Base Model feature. The more I look at it, it clearly is a Base Model Crossfire. Low mileage car though - will be interesting to see what it brings at auction. The differences between a Base Model & Limited version aren't all that significant. A Buyer looking for a low mileage Crossfire with a manual transmission probably should consider this car.

Took another look at this car and saw that the 1st owner had the leather seating surfaces installed in MAY/2007 (CarFax Report). And if you look at a close-up of the floor console, there are heated seat buttons adjacent to the shifter on both sides. So whoever the Chrysler dealer used to install the new leather seating surfaces, seat heating elements were included. Have to quit talking about this car - it gets more interesting everytime I look!

A major concern from the CarFax Report is the current owner used those dime-a-dozen oil change shops to service this car. First thing I would do if purchased is change the oil & filter so I would know it was done accordingly. 14 year old OEM Continenetal tires probably have to go, too, even if they don't shows signs of fatigue cracking..

I concede, I think you are correct about it being a base.

As with any used car, let the buyer beware, & who knows what was 'added-on' or 'swapped'... Remember (as an extreme) the Black Max?

It looks to be a really well kept & low mileage example of a Crossfire Roadster. But from my perspective, it already is over-priced at the $13k figure by the Seller's Reserve for a Base Roadster. Even in a Seller's Market for Used Cars, purchasing a Base Crossfire at that price point is somewhat foolish (IMHO). But how someone else sees it is another perspectve. I hope Seller gets his/her Reserve Price.

Yes it's a base roadster...BUT...the less than 5000 mi will play a BIG role in the price, base or no
Mine just turned 34K and to me thats extremely low miles, but NOTHING like 4490 or whatever this one has
My guess? He's got 15K reserve on this and I got 50 bucks says he gets it, where will you find a CF with that low of miles?

Hemming”s bidding is over and the 2006 Crossfire was not sold.
($23,100 minimum not met). Highest offer
Was $18,300.

I think sellers price was set well above street price, but the last few hours of bidding were active and 18K was a good offer. All conditions were present to get the highest price.

The Market has spoken and the car is what it is. Maybe the original design should have had chrome bumpers ?

Base Roadster shows as being SOLD on SEP 8th for $19,215, including all fees. Looks like the last Bidder at $18,300 got the car. Very Good Price for a 2006 Base Roadster, even with low mileage! Congrats to the Seller & Buyer. It is a beautiful car.

Any time a car/vehicle is at an auction venue, it'll be a higher price (generally) because of a variety of factors including all the fee's associated with that venue. Good luck to the buyer, congrats to the seller!

Our state farm insurance agent refuses to sell us agreed value insurance for $10,000 value on our 2004 Limited coupe with 37,000 miles on it. There is one for sale 50 miles away with 40,000 miles on it for $13,000 and there was one a little under a year ago locally for sale with less than 40,000 miles for $12,000 But to this insurance company it seems that mileage and condition don’t matter and all of them are worth next to nothing. We will likely be moving all of our insurance to USAA soon.

Time to go shopping for a new carrier that provides what you want and need. See my previous posts above 8/11/21 and 8/18/21
There are plenty of carriers that will gladly provide service/coverage (in many cases cheaper). Specialty type cars are too often grouped in with 'average' type valuations.

FYI, I HAD my SRT insured with USAA [along with Home, auto/etc] and upon checking with them the replacement amount was a mere $7400. A lengthy discussion ensued and they had a sub-company that would insure it for a guaranteed value BUT the driving limitations were ridiculous. I have been with Hagerty for years; TWICE the coverage and LESS $$$ than USAA !

Like several others in this owners group, I switched my coverage on the 2007 Limited Coupe to Hagerty. They offered me guaranteed replacement value for the car at a price I determined. They did want me to agree on an annual mileage allowance for the car, as they do provide full coverage for a collector car marketplace. But we don't use the Crossfire as a daily driver, so the mileage allowance wasn't an issue. Hagerty has never asked me to confirm the annual driven miles during any policy period.

Curious, if I may ask, what is agreed upon worth and your premium ?
