Bought a cf, just found out it failed mot cause previous owner took cat out, for me to put cat back on do I have to pay for two or is it one, so confused, I got a quote to put a cat on but am now worried when I get to garage they will say I need two, quoted £350 to supply and fit..

Can I not buy this twin cat and use the existing pipe to run onto it? Saves having to buy two separate exhausts when I already have one on car.? So use the existing exhaust for say left and the one in pic for right, that way both pipes have a cat going through them
It isn't dead, but most are in N. America. I do not think running the car as you depict in that picture is a good idea. The measurements for temperature which the car uses for fuel injection control and the air pump at start up come from those forward converters. If you block a converter as the picture shows you will alter the temperature gradient measured between the two converters (Left and right) and thus the car will be getting bad info and will not run correctly. If you must restore the car go back to original piping.
