I suspect cars are stolen for joyriding purposes or because they are to be parted out. Garaging reduces the occurence of the former and there is not a huge demand for parts to make it worth a chop shop's trouble.

And as pointed out, the keyfob interlock makes it damn tough to start without the proper key.
we had ours stolen just south of Boston right out from the front of our condo , police found it 8 weeks later with a dead battery. Insurance paid off on it and lube car went to auction , we have since purchased a 2005 aero blue one

What did they do, tow it away? They are virtually imposable to bypass.
