Default How long?

Just a question I would like to throw out to everyone...how long do you plan to keep your Crossfires? Personally, I am going to keep this car a good long time. Since what I have read in here they probably wont be worth much anyway and also for the fact that I LOVE this car...that is the main reason. So far I have had no mechanical problems (have owned the vehicle for a few months) although I do need to take it to the dealer next week for an alignment...she is pulling to the right. Other then that, a delight to drive. Also if you could change ONE thing about the car what would it be? In my case (since I am tall) it would be a bit more room in the cabin. Just a little tight in there. I haven't belonged to the forum for that long, but it has been really great reading what all of your comments are on this car. Have learned quite a bit that way.

The rest of my life!

j/k. At least till I graduate Pharmacy school in 4 or 5 years. If I score a good job, chances are I will probably keep it as a toy after that.

I will probably keep it for a long long time.

History seems to repeat itself. So in 20 years, i'll put some crazy newfangled motor in it, some new high tech goodies, and fall in love with it all over again.

The last car I enjoyed as much as this one was a 88' Chrysler Conquest. It was towed out of the driveway when I brought home the Crossfire this spring. I will probably keep this one for at least this long - hopefully longer, as the cylinder heads should not have the cracking problem the Conquest had - it went through 3 heads in 170,000 miles.

I was hoping to keep it until my driving license expired, but it looks like I will need to sell it when I move to Oz in October.

Anyone in the UK interested in buying a XF please PM me.

I intend to keep my Crossfire for an extended period, unless I opt to get a Crossfire roadster. I will have a Crossfire of some variation.

In 5 years time, I will get my hands on MPV, not decisive of maker yet. My crossfire will still be with me. In 10 years or even more and by then I may have driven a number of cars, will still keep my crossfire, my first love.

I love every inch of the car except the license plate on it. I would like to change it to "I C O N" instead of SFX _ _ _ _ .

just a thought...

Well I still have my very first new car that I purchased when I was 19, and the Crossfire is the closest thing I've found in 36 years to duplicating it. So it looks like it's going to be a keeper.

Changes?... I suppose a Hemi would have been interesting.

Arrow Re: How long?

I leased my Crossfire and when my lease is up (summer of 2007) I will be turning it in. I originally wanted the 05' Mustang GT (long story) but couldn't wait, tried to take the GTO for the test drive and they wouldn't let me (I'm 35 mind you), so I decided to just check out the Crossfire. To my surprise the car was substantially more than I expected, so I leased. An impulse purchase, yes, but I really do like the car though. The reason I'll be turning it in instead of buying it then (payout is only $14K) is because my beater car, a 93' Regal, will be 18 years old by then and I don't want to risk it. I live in SE, MI. so I'll be needing something I can drive year round, probably a MazdaSpeed 6, Fusion SVT or whatever else might come out in the next 2+ years. Things can change over the next couple years, but as of right now, its going away in the summer of 2007 and if someone is going to be wanting a well maintained, well waxed Crossfire, mine would be the one to get, trust me!

Wink Re: How long?

I purchased my Coupe over a month ago and I'm selling it as soon as possible!! Because I'm getting an SRT6 tonight ! I believe unless another fast retro looking car comes onto the market I will stick with this car for a very long while (especially the SRT6).

last car I had for 17 years. hope this one lasts that long. I put 350,000 miles on my mercedes and she's still going. I gave it to my daughter to drive for her sixteenth birthday she's 17 now and had probably put 10 k on it, gotta love that german engineering.

BTW saw a 300z on the side of the road BROKEN DOWN guy waiting for the tow truck.

You lucky... I have a 2004 red coupe stick that I bought in Feb. 2005 and would like to trade it for an SRT6 also. The dealer has had one on the lot since winter. It's light blue. I don't want light blue. The car has been test driven to death with 700 miles on it and they want $45k for it. They also have a used red coupe on their lot (2004 stick) and I don't figure they want another one on their used car lot. Probably wouldn't give me what I wanted for mine. Anyway why do they not offer a red SRT6? I like red!

I usually keep my cars around 10 years. I've had my Sterling since 91' and my Porsche I bought with only 5,000 miles on it in 93'.
