Default Help!!!!

I went to school today and when i got home my dad told me hw saw some red liquid in a small puddle underneath my crossfire after i left. The puddle was near the passenger side door. My dad has yet to come home to check the oil and stuff, but does anyone have a guess as to what the problem is??

First of all, do you have an automatic or stick shift tranny?

Actually, first things first, go look under the hood and crawl under the car to see if it's actually leaking from YOUR car, not someone else who might have been parked n the same spot before you.

It's either transmission fluid or power steering fluid. check everything under the hood. both components should still be under warranty unless you've gone over the mileage. 3yr 36k mi for the power steering components, 7yr 70k mi for the tranny. The fluid in both is supposed to be good for 60k miles +/-. at that point you change them and drive the car for the rest of it's life, supposedly.

Did you notice any difference when you drove today? was it harder to steer, did the transmission shift harder or slip between gears?

Mine leaked pretty much in the same place that you described and it was the transmission. They replaced two rubber grommets in the transmission and I haven't had a problem since. Took it to the dealer in the morning and got it back in the afternoon. No Charge.

Same here. Small tranny leak; rubber grommets replaced in a couple of hours and no problems since.

It definitely is a transmission fluid leak. This happened after i took it to the dealer to get the oil changed. Anyway, my dad is pissed at the dealer. The earliest appointment they would give me was 2 weeks away. They didn't offer a replacement car or anything. My dad is calling right now and arguing about the service for a $32,000 car. That i need the car to get to school and the soonest they could schedule was 2 weeks away. Also he insulted the mechanics that work their for screwing the transmission leak up. I gotta say if they don't give a replacement vehicle till mine is running this dealer truckin sux. Its IG Burton in Milford, DE.

I had the exact same problem in the same spot and it was tranny fluid leaking. I noticed it and didn't think it was my car. Then while driving on the highway my car started smoking from the bottom and through the back really bad so I pulled over and noticed that the exhaust had been drenched in this red fluid that the heated exhaust system was burning off.

I had the car towed in to the dealer and in 1 day they diagnosed and fixed the problem. It was a failed tranny seal.

Now car is ok.

There is a TSB for this problem. Do a TSB search.

Sorry to hear about your problem and I hope it gets fixed soon. 16 with a Xfire...you must have one heck of a great dad. I let my 19 y.o. son look at mine, that's as close as he gets.
