stryfox...you also disconnected your seat belt chime wire (according to a past posting)... does your seat heater still operate and provide heat?

thanks for any insight.

i might just have to double check all harnesses and connectors under the drivers seat.

Andrew

Maybe by reconnecting the ground wire to your seat belt chime, it might bring your heated seats back on?

wow... to hear that annoying chime again? i may have to live without heated seating. i will cross my fingers and hope the circuit isn't shared. wayne any technical service manual insight?

to all...please keep in mind...i do wear my seat belt.

but being a realtor...getting in & out of the car in a community...putting up and down multiple open house signs...the chime drives one crazy. the other option...on & off with the seat belt from corner to corner is a bit annoying as well.

I cut the wire for the chime, if i remember correctly it was brown with a green tracer. Both seats work great. I use the drivers seat heat everyday since it has gotten cold.
I followed earlier directions on the chime wire, couldn't hurt to check you got the right one.
Good luck.
If you need i can look under my seat to double check the colors for you.

that's great news. that is the same wire i disconnected. i didn't end up cutting mine.

i must have a under seat connection loose or a problem elsewhere. i may need to take it in for a professional look.

Good luck with that. I just cut it as I know I'll never hook it back up and it didn't seem worth it to take the seat out. If you took your seat out, something could just be loose.

Andrew, the service manual has a schematic of the entire system but I don't know how to copy and paste it. I have no problem copying text but somebody will have to tell me what I'm doing wrong. Also, a long time ago some body posted a link to the entire service manual for everybody to view on line. I will keep trying.

Andrew, I can send you the schematic via email but I can't seem to cut and paste the drawing into the reply window.

wayne...my email address is: gocondo@aol.com

another update... i just checked all connections/harnesses under the drivers seat...all plugs are connected.

the dealer replaced my lower center console a couple weeks ago...i wonder if there are any connections possibly affected in that area.

it just seems strange that both heated seat console button lights still fully function...this would allow me to believe all power connections are functioning. i'm at a loss.

can anyone research this? thanks in advance.
Andrew, you may have something there. Remember, the fuses are on the "hot" side of the circuit. After current passes through the heater it has to return to ground somewhere. You should look around to see if there is another ground wire for the heater, or just reconnect the ground and see if the heat works.
