Default Heated Seats

Alright I just got back from the dealer because of the heated seats. Here is my issue I notice the bottom part of the seat doesn't get warm the back works great. Does has anyone had any problems like this or know if just the back of the seat is supposed to warm up? The reason I'm asking is because the dealership doesn't even know. You would think that a heated seat would heat up everywhere not just one part.

Maybe the bottom cushion is warmer in the two light setting and is the same as the back for the one light mode?

Obviously your seat warmer(s) is not working. You wouldn't miss the heat if it were working.

If you did a search you would see this has been discussed before. Yes the bottom is suppose to get hot. Check your passenger seat. If both aren't working good luck. I've had to replace mine twice and I'm waiting for the 3rd seat, but it's on back order.

My seat bottom stopped getting hot a while ago. One day I noticed the bottom was getting really hot then it just stopped working. I really don't mind it this way, as I have back issues and pretty much always just wanted the back part to get hot. I have the heater on most of the time I am driving. Now if it could only massage...

Hey junky, when they replaced your heater did they just do the internal heater or did they do the whole seat leather cover and all. Just wondering if I can get a new seat out of the deal.

No you don't get a whole new seat just the bottom. MB made a change in the new bottom in the front where the leather wraps around and is tucked in. It is no longer tucked in and sometimes peals up slightly making the leather look loose. Glad to hear that you like just the back working. I don't because I'm usually wearing a jacket that covers my back and leave my butt cold. I think it's a bad design when mine failed 3 times in 3 years. I'm not that big!

Well the dealership guys just called me this morning and guess what they actually looked at the parts breakdown on the car and found out that indeed that there is a heating core in the bottom part of the seat! I take the car in this week to get it fixed so let’s hope that it doesn't break again. Thanks for all your help on this topic.

Angry Re: Heated Seats

I am having the same problem, just checked my seats after reading this thread. The drivers side seat does not work at all and only the back on the passengers seat works. Looks like a trip to the dealer on Tuesday.

Just be ready for them to tell you it's going to take a little while to get the heater core in. I was told that they should have it by the 6th. That sux that your drivers seat doesn't work at all!

I hope they figure something out with these heated seats I really don't want to have to turn this thing in every winter to get them replaced.

Cool Re: Heated Seats

Went to the dealer today had my 14,000 mile service done and to address the heated seats issue. The Tech and the Service Mgr. said that they had to contact "STAR" to find out what to do. From what I am told "Star" is part of DChrysler and used for technical assistance, Service Mgr. assured me that they will get an answer soon and order what ever parts are needed. Also if "Star" takes too long, they will just replace both seats with new ones. I guess I will have to wait and see this dealership has treated me like a king from day one, at this point I have no reason to doubt them.
