Smile Sirius Satellite Radio

I want to put in my Xfire a new radio with Sirius satellite built into it. Can someone tell me the best radio to get? I want one as good or better then the radio that came with the car. But I don't want to pay over $400.00.

I went down to my local Car Toys and had an Eclipse CD5415 and a Sitius tuner put in. The best thing I ever did! Going to a place such as Car Toys is great because you can tell them what you want and how much you want to spend and they will take you into the room that has what you are looking for. Good Luck!

First of all, XM is the way to go, not Sirius.

Secondly, I'd suggest getting a portable unit so that you can have XM in the car, office, and house, without having to pay multiple subscriptions.

Thats just my $0.02.

This is a question that I've had for a long time, XM versus Sirius. Therefore, I am responding to this by setting up a related poll, and requesting that anyone with an opinion vote and post to explain your preference:

Pioneer has a series of radios that can add an adapter to let you tune either satellite service right through your tuner. I'm thinking of getting the 4700 ($150), a 12 disc changer ($150) rand the sirius tune ($80) - all together it will run around $400...

Just look at how many subscriptions XM has, and then look at how many Sirius has. XM has 2 or 3 times the number of subscribers.

True but the future is looking bright for sirius since howard stern started to air.
I know many people that picked sirius just for the one show.

XM stock seems to be going down faster than Sirius so from an investment standpoint???
I'm still ahead on Sirius over the last 6 months +50%.
Sirius is getting to be a option on more cars lately as well.

As bob says time will tell.

I haven't really been paying too much attention to their stocks. But from a listening standpoint, I think XM has better programming. That's just my opinion though. Plus, Opie & Anthony are far funnier than Howard Stern.

It's definitely a matter of opinion and taste in music programming. I really can't see that much difference between the 2 in general. Didn't XM come out before sirius? Could be that's why there are more cars with xm installed. It's only recently that some auto makers are giving you a choice.
