AT least you guys see some crossfires. I have the ONLY 6 speed roadster on island. There are a total of 8 in Hawaii, and supposedly 3 of them are on the outer islands...there are 3 at the windward dealer and 1 at the downtown dealer.
the only one I ever see is the warranty department manager's (white limited coupe), a Black SRT roadster (seen once), and there is rumor of one other on the leeward side, but I never go out there.
Enjoy seeing them when you can.
BTW: Has anyone ever seen a crossfire commercial?

The (possible) good news is that if the track is vacant on Sat. Feb. 4th, I may be able to convince Les (the track owner) to let us do a "testing" day. That would mean we would pretty much have the track to ourselves. (usual charge for "testing" is $75 per car).
I have to drive up there anyway, since I scheduled a dyno run ($45) at the race shop on Saturday.
I'll keep you guys posted as soon as Rich Barker lets me know if the event is a go, or no go...

When you ordered the car, if you actually wanted it to be painted, it was performed here in the states. Usually at the dealers own paint shop.
If you re-read the web site that you posted, it says it was an "option". But it doesn't say it was a "factory" option.
Its stainless steel body panels, and "gull wing" doors was the Deloreans claim to fame. Unfortunately, it didn't have much else going for it.

As a huge fan of the De Lorean the answer is no. De Lorean's never came painted and it was never an factory option either. It was a dealer option to try and get them sold after the company went into receivership in '82. However, John De Lorean was in deed tampering with DUPONT paints on stainless steel to eventually offer it as a factory option but that never happened, neither did the Legend Industries contract to offer a factory turbo version of the car which would have probably helped the car since it was underpowered for its competition.
