Default Great news from CTD Germany....Mesh Grill possible

I have been in email contact with the fellows over at CTD Germany for quite some time now. I have been hounding them for a mesh grill like the Jaguar R type cars for the Xfire.

Well I hadn't heard from them in a month or so and just this morning he emailed me and told me that they are working on something and that I should contact him in a couple of weeks.

Yes! This would be awesome!

I ask that all of you interested please email CTD Germany and ask them for this. He said that he would like to know the interest in such a mod.

I explained to him that what we are looking for is a mesh grill that keeps the factory contour of the factory grill. It should have a body colored bezel and a high quality mesh like the Jaguar XJR.

Hopefully this will be coming soon. It would make the Xfire look KILLER.

Email them with interest please, as its probably the only way we'll get it.

Thanks guys.

Its Tino who has been emailing me. He just sent me a pic of a grill they make for the Mini. I told him that I would get other interested parties. he said he needs a minimum order. I told him the mesh grill must follow the contours of the factory grill since it would look kind of silly sitting all the way back under the hood with that space on the front bumper.

I told him to look at the Jaguar series of type R cars for reference. So far it looks promising as he has showed me that he plans to make not only the hood grill but also matching lower bumper grills.

Hopefully you guys can post here.

Also, is anyone good with photoshop? Can you do a mockup including a bezel? The problem is most people use that cheesy looking silver trim as a bezel. That won't do, it has to be a little more substantial than that. Like a surround for the grill. Does anyone know what I mean?

Here is his email address. He wants to know there is interest here in this country for more mods.

He's been very receptive thus far. Hopefully we can get more cool stuff.

So for all those saying nobody makes anything for the Xfire now is time to put up or shut up. LOL

^^^ Cool, would you be interested in a mesh grill if its done the right way?

I told him it should look like the expensive looking grills on Jaguar type R cars and NOT like the riced out crap with the silver trim. We'll see.

He said that people should email him with requests.

E mail sent. This is the only thing I want to change about the exterior. I have the chrome grill now, but it still looks like the Chrysler family resemblance. I hate that family.

I would pay up to $400 for a well done grill. And by well done I mean Chrysler 300C after market mesh grill well done. Those pieces for that car look fabulous in person.

Keep up the emails gentlemen.

Any good photoshopers who or could do a mesh grill but with a bezel like the Jags? Not with that stupid chrome trim that idiots put around their doors.

Here is the email I just received from Tino at CTD:

"Thanks for your email. We will see what we can do to make this part."

That seems to be a reasonably positive response. Let's keep those emails coming...

Something like this, perhaps, but with less shiny bling?

The new grill idea sounds rather interesting, but wouldn't it get a "debadged" Crossfire confused with a Bentley GT? Or is that the whole plan?

There was a great looking grill in the Cyril Baldwin gallery which was asked about. It is in gallery 5 or 6 under crossfirespeedster2 but unfortunately I can't get it to load.If someone can get it to load and post I think you'll all agree this is the way to go.
Andrew had posted it was a "chrysler prototype...it's not available". ;(
Maybe CDT can change that.

Here is "Crossfire Speedster" from page 7 of Cyril Baldwin's gallery. I cannot find a #2.
