2006 Crossfire? My dealer says NO!
Word is that the 2006 Crossfire will not be manufactured as a result of overstock and slow sales.
I took my Crossfire in for the recall (cooling motor). My Salesman and the Service Manager both said that the price of my car just went up because they received word that there will be no new crossfires made in 2006.
FYI... I asked if they had that in writing and the response was "that's the word we got from Chrysler". This is a five star dealership so I think they should know.
Has anyone else heard this?? I know...anything can happen.
This Dealership has two SRT-6 Coupes, one Limited Roadster, and one Base Coupe on the lot. All 2005's.

I think your dealer must be living in a hole somewhere, because 2006 Crossfires have been announced and produced. In fact, there is a new Special Edition roadster for this year.
Your dealer probably just don't want to order any more, until they get those leftover 2005's off the lot! Not only are 2006 cars available, there is currently a $1,000 cash incentive on them (and a $5,000 incentive on leftover 2005 cars), according to Ward's Automotive News.

"Meanwhile, the Crossfire continues for 2006 with a new Special Edition package available on the roadster that includes a number of exclusive trim items. These include an Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat paint treatment and Dark Slate Gray cloth seats, cast-aluminum wheels, a black windshield surround and satin silver door handles and side louvers. The vehicle otherwise remains unchanged, save for the addition of two new exterior colors, Oyster Gold Crystal Metallic and Machine Gray Crystal Pearl Coat. The SRT6 models now feature a body-color windshield surround."
This Special Edition roadster isn't new for 2006. The same thing was out in 2005 as the Spring Edition. I saw one at the dealer last year. I wasn't that impressed. I thought the black windshield frame and black foglight plugs made it look cheap.

I've heard that some dealers don't want any 06's. But I also haven't seen one on the lots either. They may have a lot of 05's to dump first!!!
My dealer has an '06 and there was one on ebay selling (the red convertible with the srt wheels). FYI yes it came out in mid '05 as an '06 model the same way that my '05 base coupe that i bought in July '04 and it was titled as an '05. The dealers just don't want to order any '06's due to slow sales and possible full lots of '05's unsold. Dealers will tell you anything. Talk to the source. And the 5 star thing, please almost every dealer here in South Florida is a 5 star that means nothing. And the value of your car going up??? Why don't you ask how much it went up??? They won't have an answer because its not accurate information. Call DC for product information and ask them. Many dealers don't know much about the car anyways as far as part origin, assembly, service, repairs, etc...

Odd how sales seem slow when so many people are looking for them. They are selling fast at dealerships here. I had a hard time getting one. It's such a great car sales should be through the roof. You are getting a Mercedes for a good affordable price.
I know but people see it as a Chrysler with only Chrysler parts and think its built in America and are seriously missing out on a neat car. To really tell you the truth the car is almost 90 percent Benz. The only thing American is the name. The car was designed by an Englishman with the last name of Dawson. If you have nothing better to do one Saturday take a pad and a pen and start jotting down all the parts you see Mercedes' 3-pointed star on and you'll see how the percentage breakdown on the window sticker doesn't make sense. For crying out loud the seats on the Limited/SRT are from the SLK 32 AMG and the ones in the base coupe are from the regular SLK 230/320. Break open the key to access battery and there's a 3-pointed star. Even the compressor in the trunk to fill the air on the tire is identical to the ones in both my Mercedes'.

OK, I'm glad somebody brought up this thread. I have been wondering the same thing about an '06 Crossfire ever since I bought my Crossfire last year.
We got an '05 Limited Roadster in Oct. of last year, and it was the next to last Crossfire that our dealer had in stock. They sold the last one about 1 week later, and haven't had any on the lot since. I pass by everyday and have yet to see any there. We were told by the dealer (and by a Chrysler rep. we talked to at a car show) that there would be an '06 model, but I would expect them to be out by now. I have looked at several Chrysler dealers in this area lately and they all have either no Crossfires or a couple of left over 05's there. With the slow sales of this model I could see them deciding to drop the line and let it go down in car history.
For me, I don't really care one way or the other. I love the car ... and if '05 is the last year for it that just means ours is a little more rare. Still, I would like to know for sure. This is my wife's car and she plans to keep it for many years to come so resale is not a big deal for us right now.
If I ever actually see an '06 on a lot I will drop a line on here.

I wish this thread was out 6 weeks ago, cause there were 3 or 4 crossfires at the Detroit Auto show, and I was assuming that one was at least an '06. I seem to remember that it was and the price was the same as the '05 Roadster I bought and was a little surprised that it didn't go up. (at least on the sticker) Stinks when your memory starts playing tricks on you. Just wait, you youngsters!!

Thanks Andrew!
Now I remember it clearly. That was a cool color. Kind of a metallic white.
Thanks. (Oops I said that already. See what I mean about the memory???)

The '06's are out there and do exist, however dealers don't want them cuz they have full lots of '05s. And if your dealer doesn't have any that means they don't want to order anymore and be full of '06 cars in early '07. The same thing that happened now with lots full of '05s and believe it or not a few '04s and we are in '06. So they just won't order them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist because they do.
