Bullfrog, I think they mess with the content numbers by counting nuts bolds washers and clips.

When I purchased my limited '05 roadster in Nov of last year, the dealership told me they were not making anymore at all - they only had 2 left on the lot for me to choose from - it appears they created some urgency to get me to buy considering Chrysler IS making an '06 crossfire.

Doesn't matter to me - love the car, and plan on keeping it. I owned an SLK32 AMG and the Xfire interior, *****, instruments, seats, etc. is almost exactly the same - even down to the poor design placement of the cruise control stick. I'll be happy if Chrysler stops producing the Xfire altogether as it just makes mine more limited.

I'm not sure if the manufactures still do it or not, but they used to force the dealers to take the cars, by holding back the models that are selling. It's like, "oh you want two dozen Chrysler 300's, sure no problem, but you've got to take 4 Crossfires too."

I think the popularity of them are picking up because they are flying off the lots unless they are SRTs. The dealerships around here mostly just have SRTs laying around and any used limiteds that come in go off the lot within 2 weeks. People seem to really love them and I get lots of compliments. I think they need to beef up marketing and emphasize powered by Mercedes.

Maybe they can't order any 06's without taking more 05's first. My dealer said, he won't take any more 05's. He also said, there's thousands of 05' Crossfires still at the port !!!

If memory serves, it seems like all the "left over" 1969 Shelby Mustangs had their "69" titles turned into 1970 titles. I wonder if history could repeat itself again, only this time with the Crossfire. Since there is no difference in the cars except for an additional color, would it really make any difference?

That's a good question, all I know is that they did back in 1970. The laws may be different now. The 70' Mustang had a lockable steering column, and I don't think the 69' did. I don't know if Federal Regulations dictated that all 70's needed that or not, but I don't think they changed the steering columns when they changed the titles... Any Mustang "historians" out there?

Maybe they will make them 2005 1/2 like the '69 1/2 road runners. They could bolt some fiberglass hoods on them and call it a half year option.

Yes I know there is a lot more to the '69 1/2 R.R. I am just trying to be funny.
I forget how tough this crowd can be, lol.

I am definitely not a Ford guy, but it is true about the '69 and '70 Mustang Cobras. They were talking about that on the last Barrett Jackson car auction about a month ago and I distinctly remember it. I doubt Chrysler would do anything like that to the Crossfires though. You should be able to tell in the VIN to when it was made and it should give you a pretty good idea of the model year.

The cruise design is better than most cars take a look at the design. Every control is on the left, so you can shift with your right and still be able to make adjustments to the left. I have no issues physically telling the difference between the turn signal and cruise control, it has become intuitive. The cruise control is higher than the turn signal. Also look there is no controls on the right side.
