The -x F- Sex Appeal Factor ?!
Pure, beautiful style. So many times on the highway, it seems like people are speeding up to race me, when in actuality they just pull up (usually in my blind spot) and look the car over. They'll follow on either side for miles at a time - checking the car out. At first it was confusing and annoying - I just kept thinking, Whatever it is you're gonna do - crap! Just do it! That is until I realized they were just getting close enough to check it out. (Does this happen to any of you guys?)
When I pick my 9-year-old daughter up from school, all the elementary kids (no prejudices about where a car is made, yet) yell out to me, "Nice car, mister!". They also stop my daughter in the hallways at school to comment on her car. She's like a freaking celebrity! These kids might not be blonde bombshells - but their appreciation of a beautiful design is pure. I went to pick her up early one day and stopped at the office to check in, and I offered my ID - the receptionist said, "Oh, we don't need that. You're Gabby's dad - the one with the cool car!"
When it first came out, I downloaded a Crossfire screensaver and had to get rid of it - it was more distracting than ****! (Thought I would never be able to afford one, anyway.)
Yeah - I'm lovin' this car!

Since I was forced to lemon law mine, I see them all the time...they are indeed sexy a--ed cars, but...I know I can park my rubicon on the hood and leave three wheels down...
yeah jens, i was one of those Americans not trying to be different... but was different... being american these days in europe is not a good thing i and we stand out i guess.
the wife and i lived in suisse for a few years back and traveled thru out europe... a very aged place... compared to the US... you guys have castles close to 2000 years old... here 300 years old is the oldest you will find. and sexy? europeans are a very sexually oriented culture... where here, you won't find naked people on billboards!!! hehehehe

you are mainly right. americans are regarded with mixed feelings these days and I can tell you, that Bush is not very popular here. but there is always the problem of judging one for all. the "typical" american" does not exist, like a typical german or whatever. we germans have a strong and enduring sympathy for America, because of all the help after WW2 - this is not forgotten yet.
btw: there are also some (lot) things I like in the US. I was there in 1993 (western states, 4 week trip with school mates), in 1995 I stayed in Manitoba/Canada with the German Army "Bundeswehr" (2 weeks at Shilo Range) and in 1998 I visited New York and Washington (2 week trip with University). First of all, Americans ARE friendly and, I would say, somehow "cool"! they way they deal with each other is "smoother", more relaxed and much more friendly - we had a lot of situations, where this was to proved. maybe there are differences in that between bigger cities and some regions (the westerners seemed to even more cool than the New Yorkers
), but this was my (our) impression. and: I would - at once! - trade in the right to drive as fast as I like on the Autobahn for the right to own a firearm. this is nearly impossible here due to tough gun laws. and do not forget, the states have a lot of nice places, like vast and beautiful natural areas (Grand Canyon Area f. e.). oh shi..., OT all over again!
jens
okay, to make it on-topic: yes, the crossfire is a sexy car! some days ago a neighbor asked me, if it is JAPANESE CAR! so you can guess, that this auto is quite rare and unknown at all.

I purchased my Crossfire 1 year ago this week, and it's always been a real head turner where ever I drive it. I especially notice the ladies looking my way whenever I drive by, but I know it's the car they're looking at, and not me. But like Hugh Heffner once said to someone who told him that the only reason all the girls wanted to be seen with him was because of his money, he replied, "I don't care "why" they want to be with me, just as long as they "want" to be with me."
Sometimes I really think this car causes embarrassment...finally got my Crossfire out again for the "season" and by the way it felt great to drive it again. Went to the drive thru bank today at noon and since I am there often during the week most of the gals inside know me. The one gal rushes up to the window and says "that car is so sexy what kind is it?" So all the others have to come up to the window for a look also and suddenly there are four women staring at my car and completely ignoring the other people who have driven up to the bank...I have to say everybody this car at times gets a little too much attention...haha.

The -crossfire- can never be too embarrassing...(for me) the LINES and curves are unique...

I HOPE to God that it is a chick magnet!!! I just found out that I will be getting one at the end of may/early june! And since I will be a senior in college in the fall, I can't wait to drive it around and around and around campus!
It can only be a chick magnet (I hope) if a guy is driving it, so I think it depends on who is behind the wheel. I just can't see a bunch of bank tellers swooning over it if there is a woman driving it. They are too competitive.
So Mike, you DO have something to do with why the chicks dig it!
