I got a call from the staff at the Auburn Hills Courtyard Marriott today.
They will begin accepting reservations for rooms in September for next years Aug 15,2009 Woodward Dream Cruise.
They will be in contact with me to set up another block of rooms for our Crossfire club in September.
I will be providing all the info and links in post #3

Gary, Can you request the block of rooms on the south end of the hotel. That way we won't be so far away from the parking lot we used.

I was told it was do to the various different requests made for King and queen beds etc.
I am going to get into much more detail this time and find out what all the south rooms have available this time not to mention I am getting this block 11 months before the event so I am the first to get a block reserved.
Rooms can not be reserved more than 11 months in advance.
They are very nice to deal with and have become to know our group name and can see the increase in bookings so I am sure they will work things out.

I was in contact by the Auburn Hills Marriott today.
I will be posting a block of rooms next week for Woodward 2009 !!
Same rate again next year ($79.00 per night) One King or Two Queen Beds.
I tried to bargain but because it's Woodward weekend it the best offer they would provide.

This year a bunch of us went to the W.P. Chrysler museum. Maybe next year we could do a group drive the entire length of Woodward, I was thinking 8 mile to downtown Pontiac.
There's plenty of action on Friday, but it's not a parking lot. Makes for some pretty good cruising!
What's everyone think?
Re: Woodward Dream Cruise - August 15, 2009 - Detroit, MI
now I am up for that, love to cruise and check out the other rides...and of course, do a burn out from time to time...

2008 was the first year for my wife and I at the cruise and it was a great time meeting up with all of you. Now that I have expierenced it, there are a few things I am going to do different in 2009. No offense here to anyone.
The Durango/Dakota guys all park at the Pontiac Loop at the north end. I personally was going to take the loop up and back the entire cruise route sometime after lunch. After all, our parking spots are reserved. How about a Crossfire Cruise at 2:30 pm? We can leave our parking area, head south, make the loop and then go all the way north to the loop and return.
I enjoyed eating with everyone on Saturday night at 7 pm, but I would like to sit roadside and watch the cars cruise into the evening hours when the sun goes down, etc... So we (my wife and I) will probably pick up some fast food at dinner time for Saturday night to finish off the cruise. I would like to be there to see all the motorcycle cops come down Woodward and close it off. The resturant we had 'bathroom facilities' at wasn't a bad place to eat either.

There is a large and great italian restaurant just north of 13..I'm sure it is walking distance and they have clean restrooms and great service during the cruise. Would have to see if they could accomodate everyone at one time. Just a thought.

apkano, I was cruising through the other burgs, and you couldn't see the concrete from all the burn out marks on the road...so my fellow officers must not be enforcing much during the cruise...I couldn't believe the marks, looked like a continual drag strip...even when cruising Woodward, they would back off, leave a little distance and do hole shots with the cops watching...it was a blast...and I had the old tires on then...may save them for next yr just for the cruise...
