2nd annual Spring 2009-Tail of the Dragon meet - April 3, 4, 5
Gary, I know this is WAY premature, but while things are still fresh in our minds...
I would like to see 2 groups this time. The FAST group (#1), and the remaining, group #2. I was with the 'slower' group and loved every minute of it. Everyone in my group had a great time, not too slow and not too fast, agreed?
And it should manditory that everyone have an FRS RADIO this time so each car knows what is going on in the group! You only need one, you don't need a pair as some are sold.
Opinion? James
PS ---- I have one request: I need at least one ride in the passenger seat of an SRT thru the Dragon.

you got it James...I am staying longer this time, weather permitting...you just can't see it all in 2 days...there's more mountain to tame out there...so, you and I for a 7 am run so I don't have to use my "get out jail card" too often....FRS radio would be grt, w/ batteries that work, mine didn't, and thanks to Franc, I was in communications...should have just a little more HP for the Dragon by spring, and definitely new shocks, hopefully Koni's....tire got better by the time we left, guess they just needed scuffed in, brakes were excellent...got to try them out on the way home, not much on the mountain...well, I will shut, and count the days to spring....

It's also just 1 hour south then once leaving to get to Lexington so others can meet us there as well.

I'm in for Red Roof Inn.
My reservations are in for the 3 days. Me and the copilot (Al & Brenda) are taking 2 days both ways. Starting out early Thursday afternoon shooting for Lexington. We are slow starters so we might be mobile in time to catch the south bound convoy as it rolls through there Friday morning from Cincinnati.
I don't want to start anything but Mack, the reservation guy, said that we are getting the best room. Makes me feel kind of special.

See y'all then!

The Red Roof Inn is a great spot half way spot and have nice rooms for about $75.00
One hour north (this side) of Lexington
I got there in 5 hours from Aurora.
Also a good place to eat withing walking distance.
Then leaving in the morning from there 5 more hours to Fontana.
Just something to consider.
Me and Frank will be staying Thursday night for sure.

Franc....a clutch? I have 1 of those in the big rig...I like my autostick...but, it would be fun shifting, but I think a sport bike would be even more fun...I found out there is a rental place in Knoxville...so I am staying longer next trip if the weather looks good...if not, I will delay that fun until fall....
