Gary,

To meet you guys like I did last year, Cathy and i will have to leave at 4:00 AM. Not Cathy's best feature, early morning.

Itsky is coming from Columbia MO unless he stays nearer me or at my place.
He would have to leave sooner to hook up with us.

And then there is Sharko67.

All that said, the Gateway Crossfire Group may not connect with Chi-town enroute.

A shame, because we had a blast coming in last Fall.

Franc,
No problem at all.
You guys form a convoy of your own and we will all hook up at the lodge.

Franc, what is the closest suburb to you? I may drive that extra 100 miles to get a hotel so we can hook up fairly early.

St Peter's, OFallon or Lake St Louis are all close and right on Highway 70.
There are Hampton Inns, Days In, a Drury's and some Holiday Express Hotels. Name your favorite chain and I'll find one close.

Or you can stay at my place for free, no issues, plenty of room and a Guest Suite I'll put up against any you'll find along the Highway.

From Denver you can make St Louis in 9 hours. Two in CO, 4 in Kansas and 3 in MO.

Unless you stop at Cracker Barrels with a wife.

BTW, from my house it is 9 more hours to Fontana unless we follow Gary thru Knoxville again. Then it's ten.

Lol, 9 hours might be pushing it a bit. I'd have to average about 90 miles an hour to cover the 810 miles! What I will probably do is stay in Topeka or Kansas City on the 1st as I have relatives there and then drive out your way and make it to your area on Thursday evening. Thanks for the offer of lodging, but I have a boat load of Hilton points that I need to burn through and I snore a lot and loudly!

OK I'll find you a Hilton. Topeka is at best six hours away.

As to the snoring, I hold several trophies in that sport. I get a letter annualy from Washington University thanking me for helping them calibrate their seismographs. I am, after all, only 30 miles away. Convenient.

Does every one plan on meeting at the redroof inn in florence again on friday morning for the drive down?
Tanner-Glad to see your coming back. The plan is to meet up at the red roof in on Thursday night again. Are you planing on joining us for dinner again? I'm thinking we will have a much larger group for the run down Friday morning. I'm sure we will have many more radio's this year also. I know Gary, Lisa and myself have them now.

Tanner; I'm also glad to see you back and that the car is back in one piece. The last time I talked with you and the wife, you were planning on seeing whether or not you could drive the X'fire home or have it shipped. Sounds like everything came out OK.
My son is getting married in Laughlin, NV the same week as the Spring run and I've been waiting for this wedding for 9 years. Looks like I'll have to see you in the Fall. I'll be thinking of all of you at the Casino!

We will be happy to hook up with you both.

Gary, If you are going to have a gang for dinner on Thursday night in Florence, let me know where. We may come down for it. You are only 15 minutes from my house.

Ok guys/gals,

I have been keeping track of everyone that posted or PM'd me for decals. I am at the half way point of minimum orders required. With that, I will place the order next week.

If you have mentioned you wanted decals, no need to say again, unless you want to be sure, PM me.

If anyone else is interested, please PM me so I will be sure to add you to the list. Cost is $3 and collected at the event. And they don't need to be placed on your Crossfire!

Thanks, James

Glad you're coming in tnn14. I know you've had plenty of advice but......

This time, keep your TC on and remember you have extra weight of luggage in the back. Slay the Dragon without all the stuff AFTER you get the Mrs comfortably in the Hotel.

Otherwise she will tell you to be careful at every turn.

I don't have that problem since my wife got her own SRT. It is amazing how much better I drive now.

see ya there pal!

I have at two working FRS radios that I can bring. Do folks normally take these along for communication?

Yeah. These work well. Your cell phone will be useless at Lake Fontana.

Cathy and I travel in separate cars a lot ( 'cause I snore) and these work well.

A note to all....
If ya have two way radios please bring them along.
They are extremely useful in the mountains while driving in groups.
