3rd Annual Spring 2010 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - April 16, 17, 18
This will be my third Dragon in a row and I do not know if I can make the trip if the entire Dragon is off limits. Yes, there are other roads out there to have fun with, but everyone I know who received a citation at the Dragon, got it on one of these 'other roads'. To drive 7 hours one way and not be able to slay the Dragon, on top of risking more encounters with law enforcement may force me to cancel the reservation this time.
I will watch the thread and the Deals Gap website. Believe me, it is not something I say lightly, as I do love me some Dragon
This sucks

Great. I see my luck is now infecting the entire Crossfire group. First, it rained the whole fall Dragon. NOW, the Dragon itself is off limits.
Man... how'd ya like to own Fontana Lodge during all of this?

Im sorry to hear about the road situation, however, there truely is not a road in those mountains that is not a pleasure to drive. I'm still looking forward to this trip as it is my first with other Crossfire owners. Looking forward to leaving Orlando for a few days, Its starting to get to warm now...
Yes moocho fun to be had ,, I can't wait to get back to the mountians ,,,,
I don't think it will effect the Lodge that bad , they will still be very busy , but it might keep those spiders away and that would be sad , I'm looking forward to seeing how they really perform ........

Other roads = fun time
Dragon = reason to drive across several states
And as to how the MR2s perform, they don't. Doc and I were stuck behind 3-4 of them last time and they were heavily modified. We thought they would do alright b/c of the mid engine balance and great handling, we were wrong. Those anemic 4 cylinders have NO torque, my NA was eathing them alive, so your SRT will def do the trick
Well I really didn't think they would do that well but I still would like to take them to school( old man syndrome
) , Last year I was lucky enough to hook up with 3 of the digital Vette guys and it was a blast , ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Roberta & I won't be attending this Spring's XFire Dragon Run. We lost our oldest son (41) this morning after 5+ months of extended illness. Don't think we would be able to completely enjoy the activities by then.
I do have a confirmed room reservation at Fontana Lodge if anyone is interested. Contact me via PM and we'll try to help you out with a room at the reduced rate.

My deepest sypathy to you and your family, you will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. It is said that we are never given more that we can bare, however you are dealing with what must be the very limits. May you find comfort in each other and those around you durring these trying times. Once again you will be in my prayers.
