Deb, those stickers look great, and I still like James' more abstract one as well.

I will take 2 of each, if they are made

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions? I am new to the dragon meet so please bear with me? Is there a 'granny' route for those who don't wish t beat his car up too badly? Is there a dam list (those who will not be driving any route just pressin the flesh and meetin n greetin)? I have a friend who has heard of the dragon, who would like to come with, he lives in Hickory NC. I would be driving to his house in hickory thursday afternoon, spending the night at his place, then driving to the dam on friday morning hoping to stay until sunday. Does this sound about right? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to have a plan as I don't take too well to surprises... Please be gentle with your responses? Thanks!

1) Yes there are plenty of drivers who are far more interested in taking in the beauty of the Southern Range of Appalacia than leaving behind a set of tires. Members James1549, MsGump, and others will be ones to hook up with.
2) There has never been any issues with people joining us and hanging out, he could even follow along on any of the routes if so inclined.
3) I would recomend either purchasing or borrowing a radio for communication that way you can pace yourself but stay in contact with the group.

The Dragon meet is a great way to make new friends, put a face to a screen name, and in general have a blast with like minded people.

Hope you are able to join us and I answered your questions.

George, Our group would be happy to have you come along. You will like it and no need to worry about your car. As Jason mentioned, it is recommended to have an FRS Radio along to keep informed on what it going on within your group. Many areas do not have any cell coverage. You can purchase one almost anywhere, or a member may have an extra to borrow.

James

Jason hit the high points. The Dragon is a 30 MPH well paved road you can travel at you own pace. If the Gendarmes are scarce and reasonable, you can push your limits.
However.....
Most of the runs, whether on the Dragon or other routes are more like parades than autocrossing so itis easy to be gentle on your baby.

Just don't try to run with crazy guys like OleDoc2U and you will be fine.

As for the radio, I will be packing some extra units. Lay claim to one and it is yours for the weekend. See me Friday evening.

See ya there.

Seconding Franc's and Jason's comments. No need to rush into anything that would scare you. I remember my first excursion into the Dragon and I was very worried. However, after driving it myself numerous times, I feel very comfortable with driving through the Dragon and the other routes. You will certainly learn how well your car will handle through the twisties and will make you a better driver.

For those of you who haven't already heard, by next Monday I expect to have a new-to-me vehicle. It's still an XF and that's all I'm going to say right now.

George,
By now with the responses from the others here I think you can rest assured that you will fit right in with this large group.
The evenings back at the lodge hanging out with one another in the lobby alone are worth the trip
Look forward to seeing you and I assure you ..you will not be disappointed.

Not sure if Allen will be able to make the Dragon now. We have a lot of things going on. If we do not get to come have fun. If things work out we will be there just so I can be a pain in your butts!
