I was thinking one are two car behind pace truck, Ride him farily close so maybe he will increase speed, then the drivers that want to exceed 100 and over line up towards the rear and the more moderate drivers fall in behind the pace car but keep it close, now if you want go 70 are so bring up the rear ., Now the faster cars can fall back a bit to open up some space to do some spirited acceleration. I have gotten up to 125, this is from a 80 mph with a open space in pack. this only takes 3 to 5 seconds. Now the faster cars can watch the other interference trucks not to let them catch up with the fast pack and cut in . Allso when driving very fast very close, may try not to follow directly behind the car ahead maybe offset, to where you have the space to go beside the other car if u have to take evasive action . Now this is my take on how they/tms limits speed. Add to are change this if u think a different line up sequence would be better. Remember we only a few chances to do this within 3 or 4 minutes on track

Not sure if regulations changed or not.. but the last time we were there they had pace cars every few cars and only allowed for us to get between 80-90 mph. I think one person commented that some of us probably drove faster getting to the speedway then we did actually on the speedway. Not to knock it.. it was definitely fun to go around on the big oval.. My 8 year old son had a blast being on a "real" racetrack..

Not sure yet if we will be able to make this trip yet or not.. Will have to post at a later time when we get a bit closer to the event.

Everybody's common complaint was lack of speed. The Trucks are supposed to be ouside monitors to keep cars in line but some of them weave in and out between the cars creating hazardous situations. This needs to be brought up to the monitors again before track day. They want you keep close intervals and not get spread out, but it's hard to do with these clowns weaving in and out and we can't see around them. This is on film.

That is true. There was an accident on the track earlier in the day so they were taking extra caution to make sure there was not a second. That is not typical for this event.

Nevertheless, it is a lot of fun driving on the track. If you want to go faster, just hang back to make some space between you and the car in front of you and then gun it. woohoo!

 

I'd love to hit 125! I'll take a sticker as well.
