Wow! That's it? Five? I'm on the list with Three of the Five listed from Ontario.

 

I have never been to this event but I am thinking of attending this year. The thing is I can only make it the day of the event so I would be driving up early Saturday morning and driving home that evening. I definitely want to take part in the Crossfire GTG at Memorial Park and the Cruise itself but, I have a few questions. I hope it is OK to ask them here. I would be coming from Cincinnati and it looks like it takes about 4 and 1/2 hours to get there so if I leave here at 6 am I would probably get there around 10:30 am. What time does the group get to Memorial Park? Does the group take part in the cruise or just watch from the park? I would probably have to leave around 6 pm Saturday evening so I guess I need to decide if it's worth while as a day trip.

The day is completely up to you what you want to do. Usually we leave the hotel around 9am. It takes 45 minutes or so to get to our parking area. We run the Blvd from the Pontiac Loop down to 9th or 10th, then back up to 13th to enter the park. You are welcome to cruise all you want but the traffic gets pretty slow as the day goes on. Once parked, there is enough to do all day without taking your car with you. Most major manufacturers have displays in the area.

You really need to follow us up there on Friday and enjoy the event.

For those that will be in the area on Friday morning, there will be an assembly plant tour at 9:00am at the Jefferson North Plant. The Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee are currently being manufactured there. I have not decided to go myself yet because of the early time. The Durango/Dakota club put this together and would like more people to attend with them. You must be 18. this is a private tour, not open to the public.

My wife and I went to this many years ago when it was in Maryland and the company was very accommodating to us visitors.

If anyone is interested, I would be more than happy to get the details.
