Cincinnati / Northern KY
Met up with Ken, Tim, John and Andrew today. Had great weather, great drive. About 150 miles along the river. We had lunch on the river in Madison. Good to see everyone and hope to see again in the future.

Had a great time yesterday, here are some of my pics. A special thanks to James for mapping out the route, even the surprise detour was excellent. While we were driving down some of the little sides streets to get to the Madison Riverfront I overheard a young boy on one of the porches say to his dad "Dad did you see those cool cars go by?"
Smart kid.

I may be up for that, where does it take place at in Independence? Any other local shows you planning on this summer?

It at the Independence Kroger. Have you did Quaker Steak and Lube on Sunday's from 11am to 3 pm. There is also one every Sunday at Fillmore's in Florence.
I will put it on my list, right now I do not have any other plans for the 4th but spouses and family can always change that. Apparently there's a big show in Aurora Indiana Saturday June 13th and another one in Fairfield Ohio on Saturday June 19th. There is also a good show in Rising Sun Indiana that I attend every year, I believe this year it's the Sunday after the 4th of July. I have two other vehicles that I also take to shows and cruise-ins and a lot of times it depends on the weather the day of the show on what I decide to take or go at all.
Coming up this summer is Rollin on the River Car show in Cincinnati. Several years ago a few of us got together for this show. The judges walked right past our cars without taking a look. Haven't been back since. It is a big show.

I remember seeing those that year, I had my Jeep there that year and it won the Jeep class. Back then they had a bunch of classes and they supposedly actually judged the cars. A couple years back they did away with the classes and I believe now have Participant Judging. I don't waste my time and money when it's a Participant Judged show because the deserving cars almost never win the awards. Ironically James, seeing all those Crossfires at that show had a lasting effect because seeing those Crossfires together made me look at them when I began my roadster search.
I am always up for a car show but, I would rather pick a show other then Rollin on the River maybe the Shiner Pride Show in Rising Sun Indiana July 12th. As for me I never register in advance just because if it's raining in the morning I usually won't go. If others want to pre-register that's fine but keep in mind if you do not go you usually lose your fee.
They seem to do a good job judging, dividing the awards according to how many cars are in each class with all classes getting at least 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I have heard some complain that they pick to many Corvettes and Mustangs but, as we all know they are a dime a dozen. I have been there six times and I have only seen a few questionable choices. I have a flyer around here that I will post when I find it.
