Most unique Crossfire at the event! Paint job was really well done!
Grady and his car were both outstanding. The car for obvious reasons - Grady 'cause he restored the car himself (he told me it was a flood car!) and cause he is just the most personable guy Ive met since Jonathan.
And it WAS funny how this was a Roadster-intensive meet.

Those are Karmann badges (All Crossfires were built at the Karmann plant in Germany) The photo below is a "reproduction" badge / some color differences from the original badges.

Fairly common site throughout the week. Either before or after a road trip, Crossfire Owners detailing their cars. And with an upper 90s heat wave all week!! Die hard car enthusiasts!!!

When we were parading down thru Eureka Springs with the police escort, as we rounded a curve in a street, Roberta & I heard a woman come out on the front porch and say "Is it the Corvettes!" Sometimes, we just can't win!!

Mine isn't, tho. I thought it was a Karmian badge, but I said that in front of Charlie Schmidt (German citizen and member here "Klieto") and he corrected me. He called it a "German Chancellor's Badge".

Figured up my gas mileage for the overall trip (outbound to AR; road trips MON - THU; return trip to SC). Averaged 25.8 mpg driving a total of 2370.4 miles. (Note: I haven't put that much mileage on my Crossfire in 2016 & 2017 combined!! ) Went back & checked the other two similar events. In 2010, when we attended CAA-01 in St. Louis area, coupe averaged 25.7 mpg. For CAA-06, first trek to Eureka Springs, coupe averaged 26.1 mpg. So in the past 8 years, hardly any measurable decrease in performance. That says something for the overall reliability of these cars!!

The planning committee is working on Crossfire Fun in the Ozarks (Round 4). The dates will be June 23th - 27th 2019. Again we urge all attendees to arrive Sunday afternoon or evening (June 23, 2019). I will start a new thread for this as soon as contracts are signed with our host hotel . . .

We got back home Sunday evening. We drove a total of 3100 miles. I can live without sitting in that seat for a few days. That was one great get together.

Nice pictures of the roadster, Gary. So how do the rest of us that attended the event get a copy of the picture(s) taken crossing the streams at Big Cedar Lodge? That picture is really awesome!
