That looks like fun and different from most Xfire get-togethers.
Did you tentative reserve a block of ten rooms at the hotel? If I make reservations should I mention Crossfire group? Hotel looks good.
re: CANCELED >> 2nd Annual Crossfires in Moonshine Country
Yes. Have blocked 10 rooms +mine for this. More can be made available. Must reserve by March 31 to get the discounted rate. Group name is "Crossfires in Moonshine Country" I'm working on possible "runs" now. Plan to visit a winery, a brewery, a country music venue, a distillery, some "touristy" sites and lots of crooked back country roads. Not planning on any "performance" runs but hoping to enjoy the camaraderie and scenery. Weather should be pleasant and the mountains should be showing their springtime beauty. More to come later. Please let me know when you make reservations so I can update the attendance roster. Either PM me here or wemull@hotmail.com.

has put together a weekend of events designed to relieve the stresses that have accumulated over the last several weeks. We ask you to exercise reasonable precautions, but the focus will be on a relaxed, stress-free weekend among friends who share the Crossfire passion.
Bill would like those who are available on Friday afternoon to meet in the hotel lobby at 2:30 pm for a short run to Linville Falls, explore a winery and cruise back to Valdese, NC to participate in a local Cruise-In. We have reserved spaces to show off our Crossfires to the Locals. We can grab a bite at the Cruise In venuehttps://www.myrasofvaldese.com/ and then walk over to a quaint little English Pub and Brewery for a brew or two.
Paul has a full day run planned for Saturday. We’ll be exploring some of the “Twisties” around the area and hunting for places to sample the local “squeezings” and visiting some of the local “must see” places including a great spot for lunch. His run will take in Little Switzerland, our lunch stop, https://the-patio-grill-at-linville-...business.site/. After lunch we will cruise some portions of the Blue Ridge Parkway, on our way back to Morganton for some local refreshments before our returning to the hotel.
Melanie has researched the local cuisine scene and has made some recommendations for dinner Saturday evening. We will be taking a poll on Sat AM for preferences for dinner. We are expecting somewhere between 15 and 30 people to be involved. Take a look at her recommendations and we’ll make reservations for the evening. Recommended:
Wayne has arranged an early lunch at Shatley Springs Restaurant https://shatleysprings.com/ for Sunday morning. Some will be departing after lunch.
For those staying over until Monday, after lunch, we will be taking an afternoon run on the “Back of the Dragon” from Marion, VA to Tazwell, VA. https://www.backofthedragon.com/ then on through some of the coal field towns of Appalachia on the way back to the hotel before departing on Monday morning. This is a great alternative to the “Tail of the Dragon” This run takes too long for an afternoon run. Instead we will be touring the Town of West Jefferson, NC and stopping by Mast General Store in Boone, NC.
Please make your reservations directly with Hampton Inn in Morganton, NC 828-432-2000, 115 Bush Drive, Morganton, NC 28655. Request the event rate for Crossfires in Moonshine Country. Also, please provide contact info to Carolina.Crossfire.Club@Gmail.com. Name(s), City/State, arrival/depart, phone #. We will provide name tags for participants.
Looking forward to a great weekend. “Wings Up”
