This jaw dropping 2-day event will be held on June 1st and 2nd, 2013 at the exclusive and private Bult Field Airport in Monee, Illinois located only 35 minutes outside of downtown Chicago!
Located in the beautiful countryside of Monee this airport provides a stunning location that is centrally located to all the major cities of the beautiful American Midwest!
A day of, side-by-side, HALF MILE racing at this rare and exclusive location.
Participants will be given a chance to take their vehicle’s Top Speed down Bult Field's private 5001 ft runway and race Door-To-Door against the competitor of their choice!!
See what it’s finally like to race without the restrictions of speed limits, on what is basically your own private proving grounds in the Heartland of America!!
This event is limited to only 150 cars, per day, and is sure to sell out quick!!

I participated with Steve and Anthony in the WannaGoFast 1/2-mile event in Georgia.

I can personally assure you that this group is great to work with. I'd be all over this, if I simply had more vacation time.

You northerners will have to meet/beat our MPH down here... I pulled 135.53, Anthony pulled 136.XX if I recall...

Gary, Molly and I are in and I am going to try to talk a few friends into running, they have a few more ponies than my NA

I am surprised Doc could not smell this thread, I am sure he will be in, and coming out just to watch would be fine with me, bring my easy-up, chairs, and a cooler

 

Wish I could make it, but too far for me.
You guys be careful, I Googled it and I don't see any run-off area at either end !!
( but I rekon since it's a 5000' runway, a half mile run should not be a problem. )

 

We would love to join you Gary, but we may not be back from the Florida Keys GTG in time.

There is about a .000001% chance I'll have my car with me, but I'm in!

Hopefully, I'll hear *a certain* SRT6 fly down the runway sounding like an F-16....

I'd love to come out to watch... Not sure I'm interested in racing my baby, but sure would love to watch others..... :-) Thanks Gary for the info and keep us posted...

 

I WISH I'd have made Clayton, GA last fall... JHM2K's car went down the runway sounding like an F15.
The video is the coolest thing you've ever seen. I won't miss this one - it'll be a good GTG, and I need to attend some Non-Dragon GTG's.





Oh, and some yellow car went really fast, too...

 

I will be running my car on Saturday the first with some friends from another car club. There are a lot of AMS and Sound Performance cars coming out on Saturday. Get ready for ~200mph 1/2 mile trap speeds.

As for the 200+ speeds, I'll be shocked to see it but it's not impossible. TopSpeed Motorsports had their GT-R running their top package (well over 1,000 HP) and pulled 193 in the 1/2...

I know Alpha is capable of some beast builds, we supply the blocks to them through our dealer network

 

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !! Thinking , Maybe , as time get closer ,let you know, may run up to see old Doc get his butt Kick LOL!!!!!!! , and see mom , and sis , since they live close , woould be good to get out and have some fun too ,

I won't be the fastest but I won't be the slowest either. I'm guessing mid 130's.

 

I think you're right on the money. Based on your 1/4 mile time, I'm thinking 136.5 if you have some good D/A that day. June 1 2012 was ~2,500 D/A if I remember correctly (Steve and I looked it up when mulling over the possibility of making the drive).

Considering that I have less than $20,000 in my car, it was quite interesting to see just how well it does against some VERY expensive metal. While I was well into the bottom half of the rankings, the car had nothing to be ashamed of. After Anthony and I had run our passes, several people walked away that day with a new respect for our cars.

 

I will be running with cars that have a 1 in front of my Kelly blue book price. So I will be satisfied with what I run. Chicago has some very nice exotics. Should be fun but I was hoping for a Saturday run time. Sunday will limit my runs having to go home.

 

It will be good to see that car again, glad you will be running...

Thanks....it has been a struggle the past few year but 2013 should be a good start over point. A lot of things have changed on this car and with this cute lil DBB PTE5857, this car should move out.

 

That is a pretty serious turbo, if you don't mind me asking, what is your goal for PSI?

Looking forward to checking this one out. The last time I saw the car, if I remember correctly, it was the first time out with the old turbo, and although it was going like stink, the launch was causing you some issues.

Glad to see she is back on track, and glad you did not sell her back when you were considering it...
