Default Washing the car and putting the top down

i was thinking if you just washed you car and you put the town down, is water going to be dripping all over? do you guys leave the top closed for a while to finish air drying or put it back down right away?

Cool Re: Washing the car and putting the top down

The top takes about an hour to completely dry, after that it gets dropped.

Hi

I got my top treated with superguard upon purchase (not cheap - but effective). Water just floats on top without penetrating the hood - just wipe away access water and the top is dry. This means that I can put the top down moments after washing.

I did nothing to my top and the water just beads right up on the surface. I towel dry the beads and the top is bone dry. That may be because the car has never been caught in the rain and the top has only been wet when washed which hasn't been too often as its in a garage every night and when taken to work its under a cover during the day. When its out the top is down or its not nice enough for it to be out.

I typically vacuum my top off. However, it does get wet when washing and beaded when wet as well. Before the winter set in, sprayed the top with 303 fabric guard to re-enforce the water resistance, seems to have done a great job. After I wash, I take towel and gently pull it across the top to pick up any residual water, top goes down right after.
