Suspension Squeeking in and out of car?
Suspension Squeeking in and out of car?
Hey guys, I have almost never posted here, but I visit these forums often. Anyways I was just wondering what's going on with my Crossy. Whenever I get in and out of the car I can hear a squeaking... I'm no car expert but I would assume it would be the suspension. I stood on the floorboard and starting jumping up and down and it gets even worse... It does it on the passenger and driver side... Just wondering if yall could help me with this.
Thanks guys, Dan

Re: Suspension Squeeking in and out of car?
This is a "feature" of certain Mercedes suspensions as far as I know. My car makes "spring" noises (I would call it more of a popping than a squeaking), and the C-class I used to have made the exact same sound. I asked the Mercedes dealer to service it, and the sound never went away.
If anyone knows of a solution to this problem, I'd be glad to hear it!

Re: Suspension Squeeking in and out of car?
It's definitely the suspension. I hear it mostly when exiting the car. It's obviously coming from the rear wheel, and it sounds like the end of a spring shuddering against whatever it is contacting. It can be reproduced by pushing up and down on the rear fender. My experience with this car and my C-class is that it only happens with the rear suspension.
Re: Suspension Squeeking in and out of car?
Hey guys, sorry to bother you again...but my birthday is coming up and I asked my dad for a new head unit and shift ****...he said yes! I'm so excited and i've been looking at the MOMO ones...I read on other posts when I did a search but I don't understand about the reverse lockout thing... I'm not sure which ones will work? Any of y'all know?

Woody,
You were right! The squeak was due to the parking brake being applied. I always set the parking brake before I get out of the car. Now I need to find out if its the cable or the brakes.
There is no sound at all with the parking brake fully released...even if I rock the back of the car.
Thanks
