I am so sick of...
I am so sick of Idiot drivers that think their cars are so fast and have to test them in the street. Today, perfect convertible weather, I have my top down cruising with my spoiler up (i normally do this because i think it make the car look more sporty). I stop at traffic light here comes the loud muffler Sti driving kid, revving at me. This is a normal everyday occurrence, I guess the spoiler attracts them. I give him the I "Even if I was driving a SRT6 I Still Don't want to Race your boxy looking, 8 second 0-60 from a 5 mph roll *(read Road and Track The Sti and Evo are only fast if you launch them because there small liter turbo charged motors need to build boost, plus awd makes both cars easier to launch at higher RPMS. 0-60 they are fast hands down, from a roll they are not)*, My mommy and Daddy brought me this car so I can be popular, grandma's car with a spoiler". There's no point of racing where I live any way, there are to many cops plus alot intersection. Plus it's a safety hazard. To make a long story short he takes off, and a car making a right turn. Turns in front of him he swerves into my lane breaking right in front of me. Almost causing me to rear-end him !!!
The Funny thing is that if I truly wanted an 350z, G35, sti, evo (our car is often compared to them). It's not like Us Crossfire Roadster guys couldn't afford/ buy any one of those cars. If we truly want to do so. LOL.
PHEW I just wanted to vent >>>

its not that he thinks his car is fast, he knows his car is fast, and wanted to prove it--and actually sti's are a sub 5 second 0-60 car, not quite the 8 seconds you speak of...sounds to me like someone has a green monster.
jp2005, IF YOU READ CAREFULLY, you would know that if you don't launch and EVO or STI. Both cars are not fast at all, as I explained before read closely now. "5-60" not "zero to 60". Both the Evo and Sti need to build boost pressure because of there small liter turbo motors, to build Boost you have launch at High RPMs. AWD helps the EVo and STi with this type of launching.
*Your right about the 0-60 times, not the times from a 5 mph roll.
*Also before you say I have a green eyed monster. Remember an Crossfire Limited Roadster is $39,370. I could of bought and a STI in a second.
*jp2005 Please refrain from making ignorant statements.

i dislike subies too, but its hardly something to get yourself all worked up for -- get over it.
plus, it looks like the boys at C/D are better drivers than the R/T bunch:

(page 4 for the magazine racer, if you don't want to go through the whole article).

i'm not trying to cause an argument, just kinda upset about people that drive a car they think is the nicest (for ex: happened to me the other day by a person in an 80's sl 450 benz) -- that think their **** don't stink.

I would have probably raced him but, I am just that way...besides if I lost I would just point him in the direction of my boyfriend who has a 500 hp '04 Cobra Mustang Vert. I guarantee he would see nothing but, taillights!

I always have fun in my XF.
As far as sports cars go I think the XF is the best on the road but I am biased, everyone has their own idea or opinion as to just what a sports car is.

Oh my where to start. Sti's and Evo's are nice (I'm going to be trading the crossfire in for one in the next month or two). AWD, 4 doors, and a back seat, which is a huge gain for someone who can't afford two real nice cars like me. Performance, practical, moods available at the click of a button for those who mod. Yeah, the STI probably would of smoked the crossfire. But anyone can drive in a straight-line (well, almost everyone). Take it to a real track with some curves, then it's more than just about the car, it comes down to the driver. Chances are, that kid on a track would end up off the track, being to cocky and over estimating capabilities of his car. That's my 2 cents. Buy what you like and drive it as you please. But honestly, I can't stand seeing nice sports cars, not driven the way that they were made for once in a while. I see vipers and vettes, driving on open highways getting passed by soccer moms. Open that BABY up, and let her rip, or give me the keys so I can!!
Why bother with these type of cars if its power from the line you need gods sake get a bike and really **** them off only another bike will match you scobbies and evo crap will be small bits in the rear view mirrors when you take off.
A mate of mine summed it up when he said everything looks like its going backwards.

Oh i restored the car and made the trailer (1990) its been on the show circuit even been to germany/belgium and boy does it turn heads. Went on holiday in uk once with it did 1,200 miles over the two weeks we were away with it parking is a problem as it gets a lot of attention even more than the xfire.
At present it is having a service and all new brakes as i can't send any parts with the car due to your import reg. All the new stuff i have is being fitted. It has been updated to front disc brakes and 13 inch wheels, the originals were 12 inch. The drum brakes which would not stop the trailer as it is unbraked its more like driving a proper car now with the discs. I just hope they are happy with it when they pick it up from port canaveral. I think they have a six hour run back home with it. Cheers Ronnie.
Don't be so sure a bike will take out a car in a race. My buddy has a Cobra and has taken on 3 crotch rockets...and beaten all of them. But, you are right...for the most part a bike will take them out...oh...and for the record this is Crossfire Princess boyfriend. Sorry I could not resist responding after she showed me this thread.
