Default Picking up car today !

Found a 2005 Grey Roadster with 106 miles on it at a local dealer (35 miles) said he wants it gone today $39,400.00 Window sticker was $51,195.00. It is more than I wanted to pay has everything. I will let you know how it rides. I had a Viper and a Prowler. The Viper was great, the Prowler was TOTAL JUNK.

I certainly hope your talking about an SRT6 because if you're talking about a LTD Roadster the MSRP is bogus and the selling price is way too high. I got a 2005 LTD Roadster with everything but the all season tires (+$175?) and the window sticker was $41,595, selling price of $35,000. That was in 3/05 on a factory order, not a car sitting on a lot for a year or more. Please say its an SRT6.

That was about the MSRP sticker for my SRT6 ... so it's probably an SRT6.

If it's not... you got robbed...

It was a SRT-6. and it was JUNK. Something just did not seem right with the car. Upon a closer REAL closer look, seen a lot of mud under the rubber. Called my business from the dealers and ran a Carfax report. The report came back car was sold to corporate client in LA. 03/15/06 Sold by Copart auctions on 06/21/06. car fax said car was NOT salvage or flood. THEY lied this was a flood car. I cut the rubber when the trunk was open (dealer did not see me) it was filled with sandy mud. The serial number was 1C3AN75N55X047241. I tried to contact Carfax could only send a e-mail. Watch this car boys it will end up at an other auction when this dealer cannot sell it.

This car did have a clean title. It is not hard to get around a flood title, just title it in Washington state and bounce it to maryland. Then you will get a clean title.

I have been in the car business for the last 35 years. It is so bad now with salvage titles and flood cars. People who use Car fax use it with yours eyes wide open. Some insurance companies sell reports to car fax and others do not. Not all DMV give out all info. In this business it is really buyer beware.

Tell me about this mud under rubber? Are you talking around the door frame? Is that the best way to look for signs of a car being in water? Just want to learn something so I can watch for this down the road.

If someone is really good trying to hide a flood car you have to be better. For example, The rubber that goes around the trunk area, when you close the trunk. It has a hole molded inside the rubber, when you close the trunk lid it compresses. If you cut thru the rubber inside you will find debris or mud. They cannot get it out without replacing the rubber. They can if they were a little smarter. They could remove all rubber around doors and trunk area and replace with new, or get a long rod with a very small brush on it and clean the small opening inside.
I would never admit I ever did it, we had a hurricane here in 1972 and had 300,000 flood cars here waiting to be sold in Northeast Pa.

It is not the auto auctions, it is the dealers that think you just fell off the boat and have no clue what you are looking at.
