Default Dealer finally got first Crossfire...

My dealer finally got its first Crossfire in today. Manual graphite with two-tone interior. First standard transmission Crossfire I have seen. The car has already sold, actually leased, but the guy isn't picking it up until Monday. The dealer let me play around with it. Didn't get to drive it since it was already sold, but the shifter throws are short and feel very smooth. I especially like the feel of the shifter ****, it's a little slippery but feels nice in the hand.

The residual on the Crossfire is 59% which is pretty high, but around where I expected it. One other interesting piece of information that some of you may or may not have known is that if somehow the spoiler gets jammed and can't pop up, the car won't go over 57 mph.

Hopefully their next Crossfire will come soon, as that one will be mine. Also, has anyone seen or even heard of a dealer having a Crossfire with a Cedar interior? I've been looking on eBay and haven't seen one, and haven't heard of anyone here having one.

Interesting that they are now leasing. What were the terms?

He didn't know the full lease terms yet, only the residual, but he said he will know tomorrow. I'll stop by tomorrow and see what he says.

I don't really know when mine is due in, and neither does the dealer. They had no warning when this one came in, a truck just came and delivered it, and the dealer called to tell me it came in even before it was unloaded. Hopefully mine will come in soon... my current lease is over within the month. I have asked for them to try and get me a manual graphite with cedar interior. I'll be happy with black or sapphire silver blue as well, and the two-tone grey interior if thats all they can get. I am guessing that for a 2 year lease its going to be between $450 and $500 a month, but we'll see.

Hmm, depends on how much you put down, the money factor, residual, interest rate. I'm guessing on a 24 mo lease your are not going to get a great deal. My guess with $2-$3k down it will be $700-$800/mo. for 24 (if not more). 36 would probably be more in line.

Why don't you just buy it--interest rates are darn near free? I put $5K down and got 3% interest rate for 60 months came to about $570/month.

I actually meant 3 year lease for $450-$500. There are a number of reasons I want to lease. I can pay the full price of the lease up front and save on interest, and not have to worry about monthly payments. Then in 3 years I can give the car back and finance the convertible Crossfire that will hopefully be out by then. Plus we have pretty much always leased cars. I know a lot of people don't like them because at the end you don't own anything, but they are nice because you wind up getting a new car more often, and most of the time you get a better car than you could afford if you financed it.

That's a good idea. I will be discussing all this with the dealer once they actually GET the Crossfire.

For anyone interested, my dealer leased a Crossfire for 3 years at $570 a month. That was for list price of a 6 speed. The money rate is evidently around a .026 and the residual is 59%. Decent residual, bad money rate.

That's really not great at all. What was the $$ down?
