Do you leave your top down?
Do you leave your top down?
I do not drive my XF daily and it sits in the garage with the top down 80% of the time. Does anyone know if this could be bad for it? I've always left the top down on my Trans-Am and had no problems. However the XF top seems a little wrinkled after I put it up at times.
Re: Do you leave your top down?
During the summer months, I usually leave it down all the time, unless it's raining of course. It won't hurt it, but you should always let it dry completely after a wash before putting it down, otherwise you will see the wrinkles where it dried with the top down.

Top down? Tell me I can return to those days again...the freezing, rain, wind, sleet, snow and overall PNW weather has made me forget all about the days of driving with the wind, sun, and warmth of a true convertible.
At best, I have until May before I can even think of dropping the top. Ugh!

Now on to something that will make you want to puke or move to Florida!
Even though we had rain for the last two days (yeah, great holiday weather, right?) tonight I took advantage of the short dry spell and was drove home with the top down in chilly 69 degree weather. Tomorrow is more rain, so the top had to go back up... darn it...
Re: Do you leave your top down?
In case any of you soft top owners are interested, I left my windows down in the garage for three days, got in my car and it ran just fine afterwards. I also drove with the windows down, both of them, the other night going home with the dash gauge showing 59 degrees. That's the coldest that I've noticed my gauge since ownership. The only "problem" that I'm experiencing with the cooler weather is the supercharger REALLY wants to run and I don't have enough of a drive to work and back to let it soak in that coolness.

I was on vacation all week and could have taken that car off your hands for a few days to let that supercharger do what it so desperately wanted to do - would have been great to drive the days the weather was too crappy (rain) for the top to come down. Looking forward to our next GTG!!!
