'06 Crossfires
I know there has been discussions about no '06 crossfires in the U.S. but I was talking with my wholesale buddy from the local Dodge dealer and he said he has seen at least 6 '06 crossfires at the Detroit Auto auction this past month. He bought 3 very low mile '05 Roadsters last week. Anyways he said all of them were Chrysler exec. cars. He said the low mile '06 roadsters were selling wholesale in the low 30's. I guess my point is that they must have brought in a few '06 for the Chrysler Execs. He has some really good prices on the '05 limited roadsters he bought if anyone is looking for one. I looked at the white one with gray two tone int. with 8k on it and you could probably get it for around 25 grand. I think one of the other ones was graphite gray.
This is true there are a few 06' XFires out there, in fact there is one on ebay as we speak.

I test drove that exact car last weekend - saw it on eBay and recognized the location as being nearby. When I showed up, I found that the dealer (Roanoke Motors in Central Illinois), had no less than 8 Crossfires on the lot, including 2 SRT6's and at least 2 2006 models.
I'm still shopping for my Crossfire (long story ...), but wanted to test drive a stick vs. auto (verdict: automatic is nice, and performs better than expected - but this is a car that needs to be DRIVEN - and that still calls for a stick).
Nice to see a selection available in the dealer's lots. Until recently, finding even one at a dealership was unusual.

OK - I've seen the same posts about how many (or few) '06 models made it to the states, and I certainly couldn't tell any difference between the ones labeled '05 and '06 - though the dark grey metallic was a color I haven't seen on Chrysler's web site describing the '05 models (not black, and darker than graphite metallic - pics are still on the ebay link above).
Since I haven't bought one yet, how would I tell for sure? Can you tell the year from the VIN? I know the VIN on that one was: 1C3AN65L36X066493
