Question Lurching - Reverse into 1st

I did a search on the site and did not really see anything about this issue.

Recently, whenever I back my car up and then put it in first (I have autostick), the car lurches in to gear. The other gears seem just fine, regardless if I'm in auto or use the auto stick. I did the reset feature (10 sec/2 min), however that did nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks guys!

I have an autostick too but I have not had this happen. I think you should take it to the dealer and have them check the trans fluid level. (I have no idea why MB did not install a dipstick for this) I have had this happen in other cars and "sometimes" the fluid was a bit low. It's worth checking and at least you will get the trouble on record with the dealership. Good luck, Please let us know what happens.

I too have noticed this on occasion, with over 21,000 miles on the odometer. I found if I stop the car while in reverse and let it sit a second, and then shift into drive, it does not do it. I was going to take it in to the dealer, but I am going to wait to see if it gets worse. I prefer not having anyone open the transmission unless it is a serious problem. Let us know if you see a continuing problem, getting worse, or if the other gears start doing the same thing. I am going to check the MB forum to see if they have a history of this or a related problem.
