Default Prowler Owner's Thoughts...

...on the "yellow" Crossfire.

Sorry to say, I agree with some of their comments. I have never cared for the cream colored yellow used on the
Crossfire roadster. It's been my least favorite color since it was introduced. I don't mean any disrespect to yellow
roadster owners, it's just my opinion. What works for some, may not work for others.

Here is a thread from a Prowler forum, take it for what it's worth...

http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/For...ML/015889.html

The last couple of post in that thread also gives mixed reviews on what some Prowler owners think of the Crossfire
itself. To me, it's always nice to know what "other" car enthusists think of our cars, whether it be good or bad.

Please no flames. I'm just passing on some information I came across and gave my opinion of the yellow color
used on the Crossfire...

This thread sucks, why are you bringing in negative opinions from other forums on here! Why would anyone listen to a Prowler owner anyways, those are the ugliest cars manufactured, talk about dogs.

Gotta love the last poster's reasoning for not liking the crossfire: "I got hit in it...the other person said they didn't see me. It's small."

So someone hits you, and it's the car's fault?

LMFAO...

It seems like you don't take other people's views for what their
worth very well.

So, what are you saying? If it's ALL GOOD about the Crossfire, then
I can post about it, otherwise I'm being negitive? May I suggest
you learn how to play with the other kids??? It may help broaden your
horizions.

As to why I posted it... if you read my post again, I already stated, "to me, it's
always nice to know what "other" car enthusists think of our cars, whether
it be good or bad
"...

Maybe I should post this thread on the Prowler forum so they can get a good laugh
about your comments...

1. I hated the blind spots.
2. Didn't like the way the engine shifted and the noise.
3. Not very roomy inside. It was okay for me (as I'm only 5') but my son (5' 6") hated it. No elbow room.
4. The cup holder SUCKS!!! It's a weird contraption (unless they've since changed it) and it was right at my elbow. I dumped a soda in the passenger seat (and almost several times after that.
5. I got hit in it twice in a month. One of those times, the person that hit me said they never saw it (it's small).
1. Umm...I drove the car for less than a day and got used to the blind spots...she's a lazy driver.
2. Probably since it was an Automatic. Can't imagine the noise being any better in a Prowler since it's a convertible and has 20" rears and 19" fronts. All convertibles have worse noise than a coupe.
3. 5'0" and it's too cramped?? I'm 6'0" and think it's nice and snug. I've sat in a Prowler and it's no better.
4. Don't drink and drive. (and yes the cupholder sucks).
5. Maybe if she wasn't screwing with the cupholder she wouldn't have gotten hit. It's small but not the smallest on the road.

I would take her opinions with a grain of salt, assuming it's a women as the drivers height is 5'0".

Ben47,

Each of us is passionate about our cars, regardless of the color, which is why the majority of us bought our car. The color choice we make ties in to our personalities and preferences. I CHOSE the Yellow because it matches my personality, I live in Florida and it just brightens my day each time I look at that vibrant color. There are colors of our cars that I also do not care for, however I respect the people that chose them for the reasons they did.

I am not bashing you, however one day the person that comes to get you when you need a lift might be driving a nice yellow Crossfire and you'll have no choice but to sit in it and deal with it... and then you too will fall in love with it.

My yellow Roadster is unique in its color because there are so few of them on the road and THAT my friend, makes my car so unique and a reason that people constantly compliment the car. I love my yellow car, so there!

Now excuse me while I get into my hot little yellow Crossfire, put the top down and enjoy the gorgeous weather we are having today.

Sharon

What is it with people on this forum lately??? I get trashed because I do not care for the cream colored yellow???
As i said in my first post... what works for others may not work for you or me. Take things for what their worth, if
you like it, great... in no way did I imply I did not respect other peoples choice in colors.

And yes, if I broke down and needed a ride, I take ANYTHING that came along, including a yellow Crossfire or even a
rickshaw.

Geez, people are awful sensitive here lately and don't take opposing views very well. Sharonaln67, YOU my friend, don't
have to like what others say, but respect they have a right to a different opinion than yours. It's no big deal, you like yellow,
I don't. So deal with it without getting so uptight... enjoy your yellow roadster as I will enjoy my SSB Coupe.

There are some cars that I like in yellow, and some I don't. Of course there are some shades of yellow that are better than others too. Personally, I think the Crossfire roadsters looks good in their shade of yellow. And as others have posted before, I think it would look good on a coupe also. I think the vanilla interior would look good in a coupe too.
I have a very good friend who worked on "Team Prowler", and was personally responsible for several of its styling cues. We have had many a long conversation about that car. I always gave him grief for it not having a V8, but now such comments are just "whipping a dead horse". I do believe Chrysler may have gotten a couple more years out of the line if they would have offered it in a "Chopped Coupe" body. Sort of a "Bonneville Salt Flats" style coupe. (and maybe a V8 ).

Some other cars I would miss, if they didn't come in yellow would be:
Boss 302 Mustang
Pantera
Ferrari
Corvette
AAR Cuda
'69 Camaro (with black stripes)

Hey, it's been said many times before, "If we all liked the same thing, it would be a pretty boring place."

Yellow? SSB? are you all crazy? Graphite is better than them all... PSH your opinions are GARBAGE...

I am going to drive my Graphite colored Car and it is better than yours.

PS. Sorry I had to post it... this thread made me laugh.

But on another note I actually do like a few things about the prowler like the styling and exclusivity and that is what the car was made for. Not sure why they put a 4 speed auto tranny in there when the car was released.

As for my honest opinion on yellow crossfire is um... well I do not have one as I have never actually seen one in person. It is the only color crossfire that I have not seen.

I love Prowlers. I'd love to own one. That said I think the guy CJ has his head up his ***. First off the guy is 5 foot tall. How can he even see over the dash in a Prowler? You wanna talk about blind spots? As for his car getting hit twice, that was the car's fault? Ever blame your car for getting hit?
His comment about engine noise and shifting I don't get, my six speed is smooth as can be. Colors. Color is an individual thing like food, like music. We all aren't gonna like the same thing. My only beef with any Crossfire is if you don't keep it clean otherwise color is a matter of personal taste. I know why I bought the color I bought but I would never slam anyone for the color of their car.
Ben you are entitled to your opinion but I would think your mom's advise...if you don't have something nice to say, you know that one? Would be a good idea here. People on this forum do have feelings.

Pat

Well I knew that as soon as I read that remark about the yellow Crossfire that Sharon wouldn't be to far behind. And I was right. You go girl!! Overall I think D/C did a nice job on all the shades of color for the Crossfire.

For the Prowler, I think it was a very interesting design, unlike the rest of the cars being produced in mass amounts. It takes a lot of (something) for a major manufacture to build a very limited model like the Prowler or the Crossfire. Neither one was ever going to be a best selling model, just something to try and fill a market niche.
I bet if the Prowler was sold today and it had the SRT treatment and the performance to match its looks, it would sell much better than it did. Of course it doesn't seem like any of the SRT's are selling very well which I am at a loss for a reason.

Thank you, and that's all it was... a simple, polite, opinion of a certain color.

From my first post:

"Sorry to say, I agree with some of their comments. I have never cared for the cream colored yellow
used on the Crossfire roadster. It's been my least favorite color since it was introduced. I don't mean any
disrespect to yellow roadster owners, it's just my opinion. What works for some, may not work for others."

...now tell me, is this what it has come down to on this forum? Stating you don't "care for something"... "it's my least
favorite"... and "no disrespect intended" is now over the top? I NEVER said it is a crappy color, I hate it or it sucks.
Give me a break, I didn't realize people were that thin skinned here. I'd hate to be around if someone really got into
someone's face.

I'm sorry I even post this thread...

Hmmm.
I agree that it is good to know what others think of the Crossfires. I was just reading a Solstice forum the other day and they were bashing the Crossfire like crazy. For instance one guy was saying how the Solstice and Sky manual top is the greatest development of a soft-top in domestic convertible history. I totally disagree with that statement. I just think that they are funny to read.

I will say that I considered a Prowler before I bought the SRT6. I love the way they look, but I could not justify spending the same $ on a car with even less of a trunk than mine, and with the same engine as my Dad's 1997 LHS.

I too almost bought a Prowler. It was under powered and talk about a noisy engine! WOW! Sounded like the muffler was right behind your seat. Vibration, reverb, whatever you want to call it was bad. Sorry to say I don't like the cream yellow color. That is the only other roadster I see here where I live. Maybe if it was a little more yellow. Sorry to the very attractive lady here who has one. You get all the attention when you drive it and it goes well with your blonde hair!

Com'on Guys, I too don't believe Ben was being disrespectful to other's choice of car color. It was just an opinion like we all have when discussing wheels, grills, or anything else we discuss. He didn't use any negative or foul language.
Can't we just all get along? I think black is best.

Are you nuts? Graphite sucks, I like black. (lmao)

Come on guys, Don't jump on the guy for saying he's not crazy about the yellow Crossfire. We should be able to say what we do and don't like here. We are all friends here. Right?
