Talking Green LED interior lights

I put some of the high intensity Green LED lights in the dome light for the Xfire. I liked it so much I hard wired some more LED grille lights to the dome light and ran the wire down and through the dash and attached them to the floor board heater vents on the center portion of the console. Here is a couple of pictures. Any thoughts?

Cool, I like it. Looks kind of bright, Have you driven at night with the floor/vent led's on ? Do they bother your view through the side windows or rear mirror ? I think I might do something like this in blue led's.

Looks great, but with blue lights wouldn't the fact that the dash lights are green bother you? Or do you plan on changing that as well?

My aftermarket stereo has a blue display and I have blue leds in my dome and cargo lights now and I like the way it looks in my car. I have a black car with black interior so it might may a bigger difference with other interior colors. I have been thinking about changing the dash lights but have not pulled the dash to see if I can do that yet. I have seen some posts on the forum that say the dash is all led but it doesn't look like led's to me. Anyone have info on dash/gauge bulbs ?

I used the twilight setting on my camera so it seems a little bit brighter than it actually is. I don't drive with them on while driving. I tried the blue LEDs but they did not match what was already in the dash and instrument panel buttons.

If any needs the instructions on how to hook something like this up to your dome lights and weave it through the dash/center console. I'd be more than happy to explain it step by step. It was quite easy.

That's a great idea. You should do a "how to" and post it to the TSB and How to section.

i've installed blue leds in mine (just two, under seats) that flash to the beat of the music i'm playing at the time.

i think it's pretty cool.

Those green LED's are awesome man...
Nitro4 How did you get the music to go with your lights? That sounds really interesting and something I may want to do!

I went to Canadian Tire and I purchased a set that contained two neons and a sensor which allows you to adjust the sensitivity to which they beat to from the music.

Originally the kit powered into the cigarette lighter so I had to rewire it and hook it up to the power source for the lights. They run under the mats and they're attached underneath my seat so they're out of view but you see them flash up the entire cab with a sweet-looking blue glow to the same beat as my hip hop music.

I just wish they were brighter...

Anyway, how old are you? You look about my age in your user gallery. I'm 18.

Mine were actually grille lights that had an option to be on steady or strobe back and forth like kitt from knight rider. I kept them on the steady on mode when the dome lights are on or when I open the door. The ones for the music seemed like too much of a hassle to keep plugging them in on the lighter adapter.

What university are you looking at? What ever you do, stay away from cal states schools, they are over crowded and it's just hell to get through them. I'd be willing to bet BC has better Universities than California.

I'll take some pictures and write down step-by-step procedures that I did to install the lights this weekend.
