I just noticed a 6" crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I heard the stone hit last night, but didn't see the crack until this morning. Good thing I have 100% glass replacement...

 

Sorry, that sucks... I guess the Chrysler dealer is the only place to get a glass? I hope you have a good dealership to work with.

 

I'm going to wait until the weather warms up a bit before I even start looking into it. It's been so cold and rocks are flying all the time, so I'd probably just have another problem later on. I got hit last week, but it was only a small chip - barely noticeable, but this one is a CRACK! I do have a great dealer, so that shouldn't be a problem...

 

I had my windshield crack last fall. You don't have to go to the dealership to get it replaced. I used a company called "YIPES" that's in Florida. They used Chrysler glass and did a great job. Call you insurance company. They usually deal with the local glass guy. Chrysler will probably take your car and call the glass guy to change it anyway.

I had a good glass guy do my 4 Runner last year - I'm not too worried - just that they might have to order the glass.

 

I HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED WHEN I BOUGHT CAR # 2, THE LOCAL AUTO GLASS COMPANY WAS THERE THE SAME DAY. I DIDN'T PAY FOR IT SO I CAN'T TELL THE COST. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THRU CHRYSLER.

 

same thing happened to me this past winter. walked all the way across the windshield. and not only did state farm cover the entire cost of the replacement, the guy was literally done in 20 minutes, and they did a GREAT job. glass replacement company, not the dealer, FWIW.
