Default Mopar windscreen install info

I'm not really wanting to drill holes in car. I've read other threads describing install with industrial velcro, has anyone tryed silicon or some other adhesive? Thanks in advance.

I've done the industrial velcro. Two years and counting no problems whatsoever.

Does the velcro leave a gap between car and screen bracket?

If done right there is no gap.

Looks good, I just can't see drilling holes. Is the velcro the length of the black bracket?

Yes, and when you cinch down the straps around the roll hoops it pulls the rubber gasket down and compresses on the velcro so you don't see it and any gap is closed.

I'm very interested in a windscreen, BUT!!!
I've read it only improves wind problem with the side windows up, BUT!!!
With the side windows up, the wind problem is much improved anyway.

Can or will someone who has the windscreen installed verify to me that the windscreen gives or does not give additional improvement beyond the side windows up.

All droptops will get some type of wind buffeting. It is better with the windows up but up or down it makes a great improvement, I can now her my Wife telling me to slow down...lol.

Thanks CrossfireLTD,

I think what I'll do before I buy is to cut out a windscreen from 1/8 plywood panel, and when the DW and I are out for a top down drive, she can slide it up and down into the center opening. That way we should get immediate results or none. I do want it to work.

I can verify that the wind screen makes a huge difference over just the windows up. It's a great improvement and it keeps the cockpit warm on a cooler day or evening rides, allows for better sound/music/radio play, can talk on the phone and actually hear and be heard...
Not even a option for me to go without a wind blocker as I get the best of a roadster and arrive looking decent and not wind blown...

I just installed mine and hands down, a major improvement when the windows are up. To give you an idea on the type of improvement - I've talked to people on the cell with the top down and the windows up and they've told me they could not tell I was riding around 'topless' (until a motorcycle or semi would come by) - so thats gotta tell you something. And like Stacy said, it allows for a woman with long hair to arrive not looking AS discheveled and she would when there is no windscreen (hey, VERY important guys!). However, when the windows are down, well, there's really not much of a difference from not having a windscreen - the wind is still going to blow - which is the point in having the top down in the first place, right??

Outside of all of that, I personally think it adds something to the already sleek look of the car. For some reason, it seems to make it classier looking.

Sharon, isn't there a law that you're not allowed to drive around in a roadster with the top down and the windows up? And if there isn't, shouldn't there be?

~ i can't agree more... this looks so ridiculous imo... a near oxymoron... put the top up & the windows down if need be...

ladies... let the hair get messy already... just let it go... that's why you bought a convertible. enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

You guys are too funny... you know, there is something to be said about having the top down and the windows up on a chilly night - yes, people, it does get chilly in Florida... but alas, its not that time of year anymore for too chilly nights. Trust me, my top is down more then it is up!!

The original roadsters didn't have windows. They had side curtains that could only be installed when the top was up. We are sooo spoiled.

When I went to college, I had a 1960 MGA (a true roadster just like the one in Animal House) that had side curtains. They were "free standing" and had there own metal frame stitched into the canvas, and weren't attached to the top in any way. They could be left on with the top down. It would look like crap...but you could still do it.

I used two sided 3M tape. Worked fine.

there's a company that sells one that on ebay i have purchased. name of company is windblox...$93 with shipping. it attaches using velcro to go around the silver loop above each seat. no drilling, easy to install...can be left on with top up. i've had it a few weeks and i like it very much. it's probably not as nice as the chrysler one and definitely not as expensive but i wasn't willing to drill holes or use 3m tape either....just my opinion

Thank you very much for your great info!
I'm going to get the Mopar ws & use the industrial velcro.
I've finally made my decision after months of pondering the various types.
