Pro install? What kit?

Just curious. I wouldn't probably put them on mine, but I'm sure others here would like to know what lambo door kit manufacturer you went with and who did the install. Not to mention any 'reviews' you could give about the door kit. Like how well the balance system works, etc.

Those aren't the GT's you were talking about are they? All the other pics of GT Diablos on Crossfires are 90 degrees. But they look good. How does your wire harness look on the hinge? Can you take a close-up pic of the hinge and harness?

True they are not GT's. They were done by a local guy, Miguel in Miami at his company J&M Creations. He custom made the brackets. He had the car for 2 or 3 days. Had to remove the washer fluid tank. They were installed with minimum welding with two 150 lb hydraulics on each door. The doors go up with out much effort and downward without any struggle. The original brackets can be reinstalled in a couple of hours. You half to make sure when your lifting or bringing them down that you are outside the inner door panels. Otherwise they will rub slightly.

I went to a casino invitation in Ft. Lauderdale last night and they had 2 lambo's there. I kept opening and closing the doors till the sales rep asked me what I was doing. I explained that I had just had the Lambo doors put on one of my Crossfires and I wanted to see what the difference was between them. He looked at me kind of annoyed and then proceeded to show me himself. Much cheaper putting the doors on a xfire than paying $450k for the real thing.

Mine definitely do not work as smoothly as the real Lambo, but they are adequate and are actually lighter and go up and down with less strength required. It is an educational process to get use to them. Especially, when you go back and forth between both of the Crossfires I have.

There is minimal wobble and when you bring them down, and you simply release the door and they shut/latch by themselves. The wiring is covered with a tubing and not that visible. I do believe the wires were extended, but not 100% sure.

I will try and get some pictures up this week. It may not be 90 degrees, but its close and if they went up any higher the hood could not be up if the doors were open. It is very very easy to get in and out of the car.

I think I will probably keep the other car original or until the warrantee runs out.

Ok thanks for the info. Can you also give your clearance at the middle of the door, about where the handle is when it's closed, or where your waist going into the doorway. I've seen a few pics that look really tight, and some that look like there is plenty of room. Oh and not to nit-pick, but if you say the doors are not GT, then they are not Diablos like your sig says. GT is the manufacturer, and Diablos are the style. But they look good, on pics from the front to see angle. How much do they go out before up?

Romio, if you are relatively small you can get in and out without putting the doors up. They open about a foot or so before the doors can be pushed/pulled up. They are not perfect, but they do project the effect I was looking for and did not cost as much as the real thing.

PS - I will change the signature to be more accurate.

PPS - Yes, you are nitpickin. LOL.

well i dunno if i would be considered small. but i am relatively small to some football players. Anyway how is the clearance when they are up? and how close does the front edge of the door get to the hood? because normally the front edge looks real close, so it seems like if it was to rotate up it would hit, but i figure that won’t happen. what did you do to replace your washer fluid bottle? and what do you mean by "You half to make sure when your lifting or bringing them down that you are outside the inner door panels. Otherwise they will rub slightly."

The car was finished Thursday night at 11:00 pm. I have not done anything regarding the washer fluid yet. The clearence is excellent getting in and out when the doors are up. Equal or better then normal doors. The lambo I sat in Sat night was a b.tch getting in because it sits so low. You basically fall into the car.

When you lift the doors, they want go inward slightly and you have to keep enough outward pressure so that the door panel clears (windshield bar) in front the speaker as it is going up.

They do not have a stabilizing bar at the base like the real Lambo and there is some wobble. I can not adequately explain to you how much. But, it is about what I expected w/o the stabilizing bar at the base. You have an inch or two of play side to side if you physically move the door. I do not think this is unreasonable. It is less then a few other custom jobs I have seen and these work smoother up and down.

Hi im looking at fitting the LSD door kit . They say they are solely bolt on and can be removed and returned to stock if you so wish . Is this correct and do you have to cut any hinges . I see you have to cut the fender ,,is this the steel or the inner fender. Also the washer bottle .

RMADERMAN has removed one set of doors since this post. I would ask him his overall feelings on their use. You might save some grief and money if his thoughts are negative.

Yes, the Lambo doors were removed. They were on the SRT for 3 years or so. As earlier noted, my daughter rarely opened the doors. She squeezed in after opening them to the first stop, which is when you would lift them. The problem is that you could not valet the car, the doors were actually pretty heavy and to replace the hydaulics you needed to remove the fender. They were cool for awhile. I prefer the doors stock.

The oringinal hinges were removed and replaced when the doors were put back to original. There was a shield infront of the door that was cut in half that. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get ahold of those.

Thanks for getting back too me i will have to do some more research before i commit i was also going to out them on my SRT Roadster , i dont do alote of miles around 4k a year . How long did the struts last for ? before they required changing .
Also which system did you use as im a bit limited over here in the UK and the LSD system seems to be more popular over here.
How far did they open first as the single bay garages here are tight , dont realy want to go to the expence of buying a new home for the sake of the doors Ha.

I think those doors are just ugly on a crossfire. They make the car look like a big bat that is getting ready to fly away. Spend your money on something else, just my opinion.
